A code P0113 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • Internally failed IAT sensor
  • Faulty connection at IAT sensor
  • Open in IAT ground circuit or signal circuit
  • Short to voltage in IAT signal circuit or reference circuit
  • IAT harness and/or wiring routed too close to high-voltage wiring (e.g. alternator, spark plug cables, etc.)
  • Faulty PCM (less likely but not impossible)

2009 Jeep Wrangler 3.8 PO113 code

will cause limphome ,low power, and mpg bad, and CEL glow.
IAT is major sensor on MAP EFI.

the IAT reads too high, id bet it's unplugged.
or was removed and dropped to the pavement and broken inside.
the eCU reports this when the input hits near 5vdc.
this is and open circuit stated.
fell off, wires bad. connector bad. dead open sensor bad.
my fsm has no IAT resistance table. (sad)

my garage is 60f and my sensor reads 16k ohms (16,000)
with hot water (tap at sink) running over it , it might read
3000 ohms, or 3k. it is a NTC sensor, more heat , lower ohms.

the sensor is double locked, so never fall off.
slide red lock up, and mush lever down and pull conn. off sensor.
3 steps.

THE fsm STATES
K21) IAT SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE (12V?)
(K21) IAT SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN (FELL OFF?)
(K900) SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN (FELL OFF)
IAT SENSOR (BAD)
POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) nah.

Check engine light flashing 0bd1 dtc

Code 113 means the signal from the intake air temp sensor is too high. Sometimes the sensor has failed, sometimes there is a short in the wiring harness.

2005 ford escape code po113 and door ajar light is on

Two different problems.
PO113 is a code for the intake air temp sensor.
The sensor could be bad or could be another problem.
The normal test is to take a scanner and "read" the air temp coming from the sensor. It should be around same as the outside air temp.

I recently had my wife's 196 Saturn SL1 inspected after having a catalytic converter and a muffler installed. Fault code PO113 came up, preventing me from passing the inspection, I purchased an IAT sensor...

Follow intake air housing from front of car to where it connects to throttle body. Normally found in that housing. Look for wire harness to it. Replacement usually fairly obvious when you see it.

Took my focus 2003 to autozone it is going thru alot of gas and we changed the spark plugs they ran a test and the codes are po113 & po303 i do not know what this means can you help me

P0113 indicates the IAT Intake Temperature Sensor has a problem.
P0303 indicates a misfire on cylinder 3

I believe the IAT is built into the MAF sensor located in the air snorkle and helps regulate the air/fuel mixture. Also concentrate on cylinder 3 looking for problems such as injector, wiring, etc.

Hope this helps!

Autozone reading PO113, PO201, PO204, PO300, PO342, P1627

You may be biting off more then you want to chew.
P0113 is intake air temperature circuit high input.
P0201 is injector circuit malfunction cyl.#1.
P0204 is injector circuit malfunction cyl.#4.
P0300 is random - multiple misfire detected.
There isn't just one reason why these codes came up. A scan-tool is needed to confirm live data and to run some tests to see if these codes are true. some codes come up because something else has malfunctioned.
The intake temp sensor sould be inside the MAF sensor.
You may have more questions, please ask away.
