Motorcycle headlights stay on at all times the bike is on, kind of like running lights on a car. on some model bikes, when you first turn on the key the headlight doesn't turn on so that there is less draw from the battery so your starter can use the current your light doesn't. but once the bike is started or the start button is pushed, the headlight will remain on until you turn the key off.

I just want to change the oil on my 2006 xv250 virago! It appears the oil drain plug is positioned to obstruct being accessible to a ''normal'' wrench. Am I looking in the right place?

I had the same problem on my 1996 virago. The drain plug is not underneath but on the gearbox side of the bike, almost directly under the gear change sprocket. you can identify it because it has a phillips head middle. However a 17 mm spanner will undo the nut. Happy oil changing.

I have a yamaha virago xv250 03' model. Its done

first thing to do is to drain oil from your motorcycle use wrench 17(size may vary) to open the bolt under your bike and place a drain bucket under it, then remove spark plug using spark plug remover, as for the filter you can use a cross screw driver to remove the air filter, once you replace the spark plug and the air filter let the oil subside for about 3hrs, then return the bolt and place new oil, i dont know if this help but i hope it will
