Hi, there are a couple of problems which I am having. 1) When I turn off the ignition the radio looses its memory. 2) I have a control by the steering wheel to control volume etc, but this does not work. I...

There are two battery feeds to the radio

1...The main one that connects the battery supply via the Ignition Switch

2...A permanently connected battery that maintains the Code Memory and Tuning Settings Memory.

It looks as though the (2 ) is missing

Usual problem is a blown fuse or loose connector at rear of radio.

Can be tested using a Multi-Meter or Test Lamp

Hoo.cwiring diagram for 93 honda cbr900rr for the rectifier

THIS DEPENDS ON WHETHER YOUR RECTIFIER HAS 5/ OR 7 WIRES, SIMPLE ENOUGH THOUGH , YOU WILL SEE THREE YELLOW WIRES THESE WILL COME FROM THE AC SIDE OF THE GENERATOR ON THE ENGINE TO THE RECTIFIER, IT IS HERE THE AC, ALTERNATING CURRENT IS CHANGED TO DIRECT CURRENT DC IS USED FOR STARTING THE BIKE, AND PROVIDING POWER FOR LIGHTS ETC, YOU WILL THEN FIND 1 OR 2 GREENS, GREEN IS THE BIKES EARTH ON OLDER HONDAS, SO PUT THESE WIRES TO A GOOD EARTHING POINT ON THE BIKE OR WIRE INTO THE LOOM , YOU WILL TEN FIND 1 OR 2 REDS, AS RED IS THE DC OUTPUT FROM THE RECTIFIER YOU WILL NEED TO CONNECT THIS TO THE POSOTIVE+SIDE OF THE BATTERY
