Kymco xciting 500 won't start making clicking noise @

I was riding and bike just died. I just recently bought a new battery. When I turn ignition key there is a clicking noise. Like a bad starter on a car. Could it be the spark plug needs replacing?

not sure how much gas is in it but buy yourself a bottle of gas line antifreeze and put a half bottle in your tank now and a half next time you fill up. it absorbs any water in your fuel.

SOURCE: 2007 Kymco Xciting 500: Jumper

the stator produces ac current and the voltage regulator/ rectifier converts the ac current to dc current and keeps your battery charged.

So its probably your voltage regulator.
when engine is off the battery should read 12.5 volts
At idle the baterry should read 12.8+ volts
at 2000 rpm battery should read 13.0 - 14.8 volts

if your not getting those readings your voltage regulator is bad.
you can find them at parts for scooters dot com pretty cheap and they ship fast.

as for the speedo, you may be able to take apart and reset the needle. Some you can't even get to.
so you may have to get a new one.

SOURCE: My 2007 Kymco Xciting 250 has a new battery - cranks - but will still not turn over. Spark plug and coil are both good, but will still not turn over even with starting fluid in the carb - any thoughts

What do you mean by wont turn over? is the engine spinning over and not starting or is it doing nothing when start button is pushed?

What's your problem?starter solenoid clicks when trying to start my 94 honda shadow 600

If your getting that burring/clicking sound that is your starter solenoid making that noise. Your battery has insufficent charge to wind the motor over. If it died while riding I would say it was your regulator, unless your battery is oldl.

Gsf 600 cuts out when riding ignition dies then comes back on .when stationary nuetral light flickers, try to turn on makes a connection sound ie electrical noise but does not fire up .have enough fuel and...

sounds like an ignition problem or a connection problem my freind .first disconnect the key to wire plug they sell electrical connecter cleaner fairly cheap being a 2000 the plug might be gummed up.if not that pull your ignition off most bike shops will tell you if its bad last but not least check for loose n corrooded wires around positive an negative starter n ignition. good luck hope i was of sure to disconect yer battery before all.

Turn key on engine turnover slowly a few times and then it dies or makes a noise

Slow turning and the click click of the starter solenoid indicates either a low battery and/or a loos battery or ground connection. One also couldn't rule out a bad starter motor or solenoid.

Will not start

I have a feeling what happened was you shorted out the ignition switch, somehow. If you can get behind the switch without much trouble, try to jump the wires together 2 at a time just to see if it will jump the , lights, starter, ignition, one of the 3. or get a voltage tester, it will do the same thing. There is a fuse on there in the line, sits next to the battery. check it. Hope this helps,

My battery died and after replacing the battery nothing happens

Did you mean there is NO sound from the starter? The question says there is now sound from the starter. If it is a quick clicking noise, the new battery needs to be charged. Try getting a jump start for it or returning the battery, it should have come charged already. Not a good sign, these things sometimes bought new come with bad cells.

Starting motor just clicks

This sounds to me like your battery voltage is low. If you have access to a multimeter check the voltage is above say 12.6 volts. If not charge it up with a battery charger. If the battery has just been replaced perhaps their is a loose terminal and either the battery is not charging properly or this bad connection is not allowing the starter to engage. Finally another thought is that while you were washing the bike the ignition was on for a prolonged period and the battery is just drained. You could try roll starting the bike, take it for a ride and see if the problem is still there..
