SOURCE: white smoke

Hi,

Sounds typical of head gasket failure.

With this you get oil into cylinders / water into cylinders, burning oil, loosing water - but no leaks. "boiling" of radiator and overflows.

Check your coolant and oil levels - they will be low.

Get a few quotes for a head gasket replacement - and timing belt change, as it has to come off when you do this anyway & no sense putting an old one on - they often snap if retensioned.

If this solves your problem, please take a moment to rate as Fixya! thanks.

SOURCE: smoke like hell

If it's only smoking on startup, I wouldn't worry about it too much. What color is the smoke? White means leaking valve stem seals. If it's black, it means you are running ruch, but you want that during the warmup phase anyway. If it's running fineexcept for a little smoke on startup, I wouldn't worry about it (enough to tear into the carbs again anyway) Wink Oh if it was your floats, it would more likely be smoking through the rev range all the time.

SOURCE: white smoke blowing out the exhaust and oil consumtion on r.cyl.

Its most likely your rings. They get worn and start letting oil into the combustion chamber. They aren't extremely hard to replace.

Burnt oil smell in exhaust fumes, oil leak above exhaust manifold, motor shakes and sounds like its misfiring,

is it heavy white smoke? generally means you are burning antifreeze. Do a compression check of all cylinders and inspect spark plugs for any signs of engine malfunction, let me know what you find

Mitsibushi pajero oil light time

White SWEET smelling smoke, or white OILY smelling smoke? If it's white thick SWEET smelling smoke, you have a blown head gasket - that's the smell of antifreeze burning in the engine, which it should NEVER do. If it's white OILY smelling smoke (smells a lot like diesel), then you're getting too much fuel into the cylinders.

If it's sweet-smelling smoke (antifreeze), pull the oil dipstick & check the oil level. If the oil level is HIGH and the oil looks like a mocha milkshake, that's absolutely conclusive - that's what happens when antifreeze gets into your oil, and it's nasty corrosive to engine parts.

I'm not at all surprised that the oil light is on if it won't start - you won't get much oil pressure until the engine is running.

Engine chugs, lots of white smoke

Smell your oil. If it smells gassy, your carb is stuck wide open-i mean the float stuck, allowing gas to run past the valves and into the block, causing the white/blu smoke. Did you fill the oil to the TOP of the dipstick??? Should be at the bottom. Just a couple of scenarios.

When i start the lt1042 cub cadet riding mower it smokes from the exhaust and oil is in the carb

sounds like the needle valve inside the carb has failed dumping gas into the crankcase and into the cylinder this overfills the oil and dumps it change the valve and seat change the oil a couple times add a fuel line shut off and run the carb out of gas when your done using it the newer fuel we get melts the rubber seal

Hard starting smokes white like gas is getting into cylinders

White smoke in a small engine is oil. Oil in the cylinder will create too much pressure for the engine to achieve compression. Make sure the engine is not getting fuel into the oil and thinning the mixture (literally smell the oil... gasoline and oil smell nothing alike, if it smells like gas, it is). If this is the case, the carb is leaking fuel into the engine, thinning the oil and causing the oil to leak past the rings into the cylinder head, through the valves and, from there, into the exhaust to burn off. Black smoke indicates a direct fuel issue in a small engine, white is oil based.
