1989 tw200 yamaha won't start

Have good spark, spark plug, put new gas in tank, bled excess fuel from line and carb. Tried electri start and kick start using combination of choke nd no choke with no positive result. Engine rebuilt 2 years ago with less than 300 miles. Would ride more often if problem resolved. Thank you

G'day egdbcs . Ok.now lets see.You say good spark,so i'm presuming you are doing the old sight test.Try bending the arm on a know good sparkplug about 5-6mm,earth the plug and kick'er in the guts(crank it over)Be very carefull , high voltage danger. If there's still a good spark it's safe to say that there will also be a good spark under pressure in the combustion chamber, speaking of which you should also do a compression test, anything over 100psi should be ok. as i'm not to sure of the extent of the re-build,hopefully the valves were lapped and checked for straight and true and valve seals replaced,if you notice oil on the tip of the spark plug you could have a leaking valve seal or oil seal .Try putting a small amount of fuel directly into the combustion chamber ,tighten up the spark plug ,install the plug cap and.......Yeah ..You guessed it ..."kicker in the guts".If all the abouve are correct and true it should fire up.If it runs for 5-10 seconds then stops you've got some sort of fuel starvation problem , could be dirt in the carb, blocked idle jet ,or air passage or even the needle could have come off it's clip, believe me with an old bike like yours anything could be worn and loose inside that carby. The only other thing to consider is the timing. There may be a good spark but is it happening at the right time inside the engine???. I'll leave it all in your capable hands EGDBCS.Hope this helps to solving your worries. Chow for now......Tilleydog..

My ryobi x430 will not start. Replace spark plug and still won't start

hello sir, my machine will only start when pumping primmer bulb or squirting fluid in the carburetor than stops. the fuel line has broken off, in most small carburetors this is a ongoing problem.old fuel will crystallize when left in tank for a long time.plugging up ports, fuel lines, small screen in carburetor.fuel lines will dissolve clogging carb.this is why it will run when the choke is on creating a vaccum to where there is fuel forced in the carb to rum, also the gas will evoporate leaving the oil behind clogging up carb.the thing to do is remove carb. and clean out, replaceing gaskets or fuel line if necessory.use carb cleaner to clean out carb.make sure to make note where fuel line go.the fuel filter broke off of fuel line letting debris get in carb plugging it up.the muffler is known to clog up a lot on these machines where thay want run. the compression should be 60 to 120 lbs any thing below 60 is junk. when adjusting the carb screws turn in all the way than turnout 1 1/4 turns turn in slow untail machine runs also you need to check for spark by removing plug and grounding aginst engine to chech spark, ok.a new spark plug would be a good ideal too , if you are going to make these repairs use new fuel line and filter, hope this helps, any comments welcome, thank you, 11

I have a 1985 Yamaha maxim that hasn't been ran

Spray starter into the carb intake with no choke, if she runs for a few seconds then you know its fuel starvation
clean jets & airways & blow through with compressed air

I just bought a 1988 yamaha virago 750 and it was stored outside covered for over 4 yrs.Cleaned carbs and gas tank, put new plugs in,new fuel lines and checked fuel filter is ok. I have spark,compression...

good start on cleaning things BUT, you should replace pump. the pump will have the same gum **** the tank did. you can unhook lines and turn over to see how much fuel you get

I have a new batiere in my 1991 vino 50cc tow stroke, And the starter wont work and it wont kick start even with starter fliod. Anything that I can check or replace?

Check fuses. Get a new spark plug then check for spark by hooking up the plug wire then hold the metal side of the plug against the cylinder. Have a friend kick the engine over while you look for spark. Remove the carb, then remove the float bowl from the bottom of the carb. Use spray carb cleaner to clean the carb. How old is the gas? Flush the tank and fill with fresh fuel if old gas is present. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Tw200 replaced the whole electrical system but the magnito itself, everything wotks, when i try to start it I get a sputter like it wants to start, like I said everything is new but the metal magnito...

Please check if the battery takes the self starter. Then we will check if there is good bluish spark at the plug point and if gas is reaching the carb or not. If gas and current reach the cylinder head then the bike has to start.
