Bike idles fine but above idle on cruise it surges, if pull choke out a little it will run fine at road speed but choke out at idle. Carb has been checked and found to be clean.

This prob happens allways in carburated engines that the car or motorcycle is running lean or rich . because the air - fuel mixture ratio is not right . so you should open the carburator and remove the air filter you will find two screws in the lower front section of your caeburator. you can adjust them by a screw driver until your car is smooth

2002 suzuki savage

I just bought the same bike. I had to choke it hard to even get it to start. Seemed as if it was running lean. It sputtered under acceleration and would die when I pushed the choke in. My first step I filled the tank the tank with 93 octane gas. This is a high compression motor. After gas swap my bike jumped out of it's skin. No more choking and very smooth through the power band and does not sputter no more. A totally different bike from then

I bought a 2002 Hayabusa in June and it came with yosh pipe and pcIII. It started backfiring a week after i had it so i removed the pcIII and reconnected the stock ecm. Bike ran great for a month but has...

Nioce bike sounds like a bad injector though.
You could try to remove them one at a time.injector cleaners might ev en help first but find a really good one.
You gotta use the highest octane on that bike also.
Good luck,Gary

I have a 2002 fatboy and while it rides fine while cruising,it dies when I come to a stop.It wont idle unless I'm on the throttle

If your Fatboy is carb equipped you need to set the idle speed a bit higher. If you're still running the stock carb, remove the air cleaner cover. You'll see a square looking plastic top on the carb. Just to the right (toward the front of the bike) you'll see a screw. This is the idle stop screw. Turn it clockwise to increase the idle speed. Set the idle speed with the engine at full operating temp. It should idle at about 1000 RPM.

If your bike is fuel injected, you'll have to take it to a shop to get the idle speed set as it's done electronically.

Good Luck

I just bought a used 1982 Yamaha 650 Maxim. It had been sitting for some time and the Carburetors were badly varnished, so I went in and cleaned everything. I then replaced the badly dry rotted manifold...

You will have to check the float level of the carburators and hope you had used compressed air to blow out the jets!
Best still is to visit this site for more info...theres plenty in there for our type of bikes mine is XJ750RH.
Good luck.

Bike stalls in high gears when cruising around 45-50MPH

Could be your spark plugs, or maybe your side stand as some bikes if not all of them now have a switch on the side stand which prevents the rider from starting the bike if the stand is extended. So if the spring which retracts the stand is slightly lose, it pulls on the switch and cuts off power. Im not an expert but just check these.

Could also be that your carbs are dirty. So just give them a bit of a service and check for any blockages in there.

2002 Suzuki ls 650 Savage Ekectrucak problem

sounds like either the battery is past its useful life (will no longer hold a charge while under load) or the recharging circuit is no longer working. i'd focus on the battery especially if its the original from 2002.

even if the trickle charger shows a full charge, remove it from the charger and immediately measure the voltage. wait about 10 minutes and recheck the voltage. if it has fallen to below 11volts without any load applied, then change the battery. be sure to trickle charge the new one before using it.
