I have an 08 ktm 530 ive been stranded 6 times in the woods where it wont start, i can at times kick it but im 47 and have had kness surgery and im light, they took off my emmisions at the dealer, i ve heard of jetting issues , it sits now or is in the shop alot can you help me it has 88-100 miles on it my e-mail is [email protected]
This is obviously a problem in design of the bike. Weak circuit board design creating a shallow spark or mis-timed spark, OHC timing far too radical, carb design not compatible with the bore of the bike, factory valve angles out of whack, something, or several somethings have converged in this bike. Does your state have a "Lemon Law"? Many states have this and it forces the dealer to refund your money or replace the bike. Contact the KTM Corporate office > >

08 530, very exact full on race bike with a lic. plate. If you take it to your KTM dealer and have them call technical support they can help your dealer.
The slide has to be set at 1mm from the bottom, the accelerator pump 1mm, pilot screw 1 3/4 turns out. pilot jet 45 instead of 48 2500 feet to 4000 feet don't turn the black nob on the left side of the carb, it's for setting the slide height, not for idle. If your bike starts with one kick after these adjustments but won't electric start change the tourque limiter.

Sam, trade it in on a Yamaha Wr250or a Honda 250. More reliable and dealers are everywhere. Also, easier to kick, but get a bike with an electric starter. The lighter weight won't beat you to death as the KTM would if it would run. Yes, you have less power, but how much do you really need. I would like to have my old 1964 Honda 90cc four stroke pushrod back. I am 59 and feeling it.
