Repair would be at least $139 from Blue Moon Camera. I would buy another MZ-50 (ZX-50 is the same) off eBay or you could buy a ZX-30 from Blue Moon Camera for $75 with 1 year warranty. They are professional.
use ISO Kodak 400 as a start. Remember that the higher the speed the higher the grain. So if you want to enlarge to poster size a lower ISO speed will give the less grain, ( sharper image ).
Two lens should be good enough. First one for closer objects, 28-80mm lens which covers wide angel to portrait shoots and 70-200mm for distance shootings. Bring the camera to the camera shop to try on. Some pawn shop should have good prices. makes sure to purchase with returnable guarantee if not satisfied. -Good Luck. -James
sounds more like the flyback. What is the chassis number of your set. The flyback if thats what it is would cost under 50 if you replace it yourself maybe 150 if a shop does it. But post the chassis number as the chassis number would make it easier to try to figure out if its the flyback or not.
