1. Excessive choke use.
2. High-speed riding style.
3. Idle speed improperly adjusted.
4. Dirty air cleaner element (may also affect idle speed).
5. Restricted fuel tank vent system.
6. Vacuum piston assembly malfunction.
7. Excessive accelerator pump output.
8. Plugged or restricted bowl vent.
9. Float level too high.

SOURCE: i have a 06 rmz 450 and it is geting hard to kick

I have a customer expieriancing the same pronblem I would lean to the cam timing or the auto decopresion is worn out from what I can see the part is real loos in the cam and may not be holding as it is passing the shim cup. But first thing check the cam timing as the chain can become very loos due to the manuel screw that gets ignored and the cahin will come loos.

2010 Suzuki RMZ 450 hard to start

Hi, Brett and the usual suspects are:
1. Spark plugs in bad condition or have an improper gap or are partially fouled.
2. Spark plug cables in bad condition.
3. Battery damaged or nearly discharged, should have 12.5 volts.
4. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
5. Throttle controls not adjusted correctly.
6. Water or dirt in the fuel system.
7. Water or dirt in the carburetor.
8. Intake air leak.
9. Fuel tank vent hose and vapor valve plugged, or fuel line closed off, restricting fuel flow.
10. Choke valve inoperative.
11. Engine lubricant to heavy (winter operation).
12. Ignition is not functioning properly (possible sensor failure).
13. Faulty ignition coil.
14. Valves sticking.

My 2004 rmz 250 4 stroke lost power died went to kick it over and it locked up what causes that?

Hi, William you may have hydraulic lock caused by excessive liquid in the cylinder or you have squeaked your top end this is commonly known as "HEAT SEIZE" the piston heats up expands and becomes extremely tight in the cylinder bore and usually occurs mainly on 2 cycle engines right after a fresh top end rebuild, but it can also happen to brand new motorcycles, these are rare instances due to better quality control and education. Overheating failures that cause pistons to seize are many and each one should be carefully diagnosed to prevent future repeat offenders and the usual suspects are:
1. Lack of lubrication due to low or no oil.
2. Among the causes of lack of cylinder, lubrication is clogging of lubricator by dirt or waste, obstruction in oil pipes/lines, leaky check valves, leaky pump packing, broken oil pipe/line, oil too cold to feed.
3. Wrong type of oil used in premix or oil tank.
4. Improper premix ratio you should start with 32:1 as a baseline.
5. New rebuild piston to cylinder tolerances set up too tight.
6. Failure to follow proper break in procedures with a 16:1 premix ratio.
7. Loose fasteners causing intake, base, or head gaskets to leak or blown crankshaft seal, failure caused by age, overheating or walking. 8. Holes in the intake manifold bent or warped intake flange or reed cage any stray air coming into a cylinder will cause a super lean condition.
9. Improper assembly of reed valve gaskets.
10. Insufficient warm up time for temperature conditions before WOT.
11. Broken, pinched or cracked fuel line.
12. Carburetor fuel passages clogged or restricted from stale fuel varnish, ethanol sludge, dirt, rust, or fuel level in float bowl too low.
13. Main jet size too small or partially clogged
14. Air filter improperly installed, missing or not sealing.
15. Faulty or improperly adjusted oil pump and or cable.
16. Failure to bleed oil pump after a rebuild/replacement or running oil tank dry.
17. Engine coolant level too low, too old, or improper mixture ratio.
18. Radiator clogged, fins damaged, or faulty cap.
19. No liquid circulation due to failed oil or water pump.
20. Cavitation due to air in oil or coolant system.
21. Water and oil mix due to blown head gasket.
22. Timing retarded due to faulty CKP sensor or CDI.
23. Improper spark plug heat range (too hot) and or gap.
24. Excessive engine load, brakes dragging, clutch slipping, transmission lubricant level too low or viscosity to high.

Diesel engine. In the morning when the vehicle had been standing for a day, when cranking the engine it will start smooth for a second and then splutters / running rough and not respond to the acceler

2 things cause these type of problem both are related to air is getting into injection system #1 loose or pin holes in hoses from fuel tank to injection pump #2 fuel shut off solenoid is fully seating allow drain back. back car up driveway or place rear tires on some ramps with a near full tank this should keep fuel in injection system see if it starts and runs better this way if so then test for these problems

My 1991 suzuki swifts runs well until it gets to 70-80km/h then it starts to cough and splutter if i dont pull over and let it idle for a few minutes the problem gets worse till the car will only do...

EGR main stuck open? yes, clean it ever 50k miles.
this is called random stalling.
the key word here, is random.
implying the motor is ok but EFI is bad. in some way.
EFI bad , means:
a: bad sensors (or acutators) ECU is lied to.
b: can not inject, correctly for many reasons. ASK?

did you ever consider reading the glove box op guide?
and do the full 60k miles (100km) service point schedule.
aka a Full tune up, and a , fuel filter?

this to me, sounds like
1: system going to limphome mode (EFI)
2: gross misfire. (tune up related)
3: lose of fuel pressure.

In a shop they do the turn up
the do the test next, not in the reverse.

I have a 07 450 with the 2moto kit it is fue injected it keeps getting fuel in the oil up to 1/3 cup in 2-3 hours of ridding . it does not seem to ever be fludded and usualy starts within 4 kicks.any...

Remove the fuel injector and inspect for any damage/wear to the o-ring seals. Their also maybe fuel getting past the valve stem seals. All depends on how many hours on the bike and how hard it has been riden,

2006 suzuki rmz 450 seems to be getting gas in the oil. it runs out of the crankcase overflow tube it constantly pours out as soon as i crank it.

The float is stuck open giving the carb fuel constantly. The extra fuel runs into the intake, fills the cylinder, gets past the piston rings and then fills the gearbox and overflows onto the floor. Pull the carb and clean it. Some trash, ( such as rust from the tank ), is not letting the float needle to seat. Also, turn off the gas at the tank when you are not riding. If you already are doing this, the petcock must not be shutting off properly and needs to be replaced. Right now, change the oil in the gearbox. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

How do you drain the fuel out of a 2008 suzuki rmz 450 motocross bike thats fuel injected?

Remove the feed pipe to the injectors and you will be able to drain the fuel, but you will have to use the ignition to do so.
The other way would be to remove the feed pipe to the pump from the tank, this way you will be able to remove the fuel without the ignition.
