V Star 250 will start but stops when I release the starter button

There is either a fault with the push start switch, the starter relay or starter solenoid. Take it in for service, or you local dealer will probably collect and return it.

you have a bad belt switch,if the dryer stays running while you hold the start button on and stops when you release the button its the belt switch part WD21X10261 i've seen this a few times,go here and look at part 803 this is the bad part.

Press and hold the Start/Stop button while switching the unit on with the On/Off switch.
As soon as the Start/Stop illumination ring lights constantly, after approx. 5 sec., release the Start/Stop button.
Immediately press and hold the Start/Stop button until the Demo-Mode is activated, approx. 4 seconds.

The Hammond is a great organ. I believe you have the star+ter on your organ. If you are unfamiliar with it, you need to hold the starter switch up and let it spin up to speed, then switch the power button to the on position while simultaneously releasing the starter. If you already are doing this, you may have a bad starter. If the star+t++er is working, check the connection to the speakers.

When you push the starter button, it performs two functions at the same time; spins the starter over, and turns the headlight off. If the headlight fails to come back on when the starter button is released, then you've got a bad starter switch. Honda does not sell parts for repairing them, so your only option is to replace the entire right hand handlebar switch assembly.
Before speding the considerable amount of cash required for a new switch, first try spraying some electrical contact cleaner in it. The best way to do this is to first remove the screws that hold the upper and lower halves together and open it up for better access to the starter button contacts.

when I press and hold the start button it tumbles but not sure if it heats up. When I let go of button machine stops
