Insert the key in the lock on the left side of the passenger grab rail. 1st stop releases helmet lock, 2nd stop releases seat.

now im not sure on this but when i had mine there was a bolt towards the tip take it out and the baffle should slide out from the exit

to remove the seat on a 98 f3 you start on the left side by turning the bloack plastic lock near the bottom of the rear fairing just below the front of the seat.once you do that you pull slightly out on the plastic it will start to pull free from the seat there are3 or 4 plastics studs holding it so you pull the plastics starting at the front of the side fairing working your way to the back. then it will expose a bolt that holds the seat down it is a 1/2 inch socket to remove that. once you do that do the same procedure on the other side and the seat will come off :)

Just remove plastic located directly under seat with hand or thin object, under that is a Philip screw...take screw out and slap yourself in the face and say that was it!!!
