I hav a cbr400 triarm,it starts and idles fine but wont rev past middle range while in gear,it seems to be fine while in neutral r if the clutch is in!if u open it up in second gear it jumps badly as if the chain is slipping(but its not) its quite good all through first gear, in 4,5,6 it will not rev out and will onlydo about 65mph.it was turned into a street fighter some years ago i.e.no clocks,ign moved, and sopposedly was fine. ive changed,all HT leads,plugs,thoroughly cleaned carbs, replaced fuel pump,petrol,filter and all lines.all help is greatly appreciated thanks.
In the tachometer there is an integrated circuit that gives out of it 3 cables.The bike will not work without this IC plugged on the main clock's harness.

does it have a throttle cable fitted?? you really dont need an idle as as soon as you release the opc or dead mans handle it will cut out anyway. engine should be reving at 3000-3100 rpm. if this mower has a briggs and stratton engine fitted, remove the air filter and check the spring and linkege is still attached to the air vane govenor
Check the prongs on the #1 coil to see if it is crackd if it is left alone it will eventually turn to a multiple misfire, also take the coil off to make sure nothing is shorting out.
i dont think its rev box.(rev box just keeps engine from reving over a certain rpm) could be bad gas or water in gas, also have you checked those valve clearances lately?? 0.003--0.004 on filler gage
sounds like a auto box fault to me,,if its doing nothing and wont rev,past,,2000rmp this is about all it should rev at when doing a "stall test" the gear box may be locked up if it is and you keep reving the guts out of you will burn out the gear box up,,,have you tryed jacking up the rear wheel of the car to see if its not the diff that locked up
on the carb there is a little normally brass adjusting needle (screw) this is the idle control valve you need to turn this 1/4 turn in one direction and see if the idle picks up if it doesnt try the other way untill you get it ideling properly. hope this helps
The carb has serveral jets for different Rpm ranges. If you have a problem with one range, that specific jet is probably blocked. Idle jet, low jet, intermediate jet, high jet. some bikes have more. Sounds like a jet problem to me Run Seafoam cleaner in a couple tanks.
