How to tell if seloid bad?

You can check a solenoid by using an ohm meter. Or just take it to a auto shop and ask them to check it for you if you don't have one. They can check it real quick and shouldn't charge you anything.

Peg perego polaris 700 4-wheeler wont run

Had the same problem. Once a year open (if possible) gas throttle and gear shift. Use a standard lubricating spray on everything. (power off first) shake and use compressed air to spread. Potmeters are dryed up and dont get signal. Let it dry after you sprayed it some times. Make shure you move parts. Connect and should be ok.

I have a 2004 Polaris 400. 4-wheeler. The bike won't start unless I move the kill switch to the left. What is happening?

You have a faulty switch, or it has corrosion in it, moving the switch through it's full travel rapidly for a while to clean the inner contacts may cure the problem, or try disconnecting the switch.

Could be rectifier/regulator or ECM (electronic ignition control module), The rectifier will probably be under the seat. It looks like it is made of "pot" metal and has cooling fins. It is usually attached to the frame by two bolts and has a couple of electrical wiring connectors. Disconnect and unbolt. Look at the back of it, it should be a shiny plastic type material. If it is bad, it will be bulging, charred, maybe have a hole in it, and have that distinct burnt electrical smell. If so, it has let the "magic smoke" out. A new one will be pricey $200 - $400. Try Ebay or used ATV parts websites. I have had some luck there and it was much cheaper. I don't have a clue of how to troubleshoot the ignition box. Sorry, but I hope this helps. I have had this type problem on Artic Cat 4 wheeler and Yamaha outboard. Hope this helps.
