I have a 2000 Ford Windstar 3.8. I was at school and was ready to leave when the van wouldn't start. All lights turned on and all power worked with no dimming. When I turned the key it made no clicking sound at all.Battery and Alternator are 2 months old. SO today I took off the old starter and had it tested and they said it passed, but couldn't check the solenoid, so I bought a new starter with solenoid anyhow and when I connected the battery back up with the positive cable the van tried to start on its own but never turned over and the key was never in the ignition, was wondering what it could be?
SOURCE: Where is the shift solenoid for a 2000 Windstar?
The shift solenoids are in the transmission. The solenoids are in the valve body which is in your transmission.
