Bike has spark, feul leaks from carb when laid on its side, bike ran fine , now wont start

Bikes are not meant to lay on their side they have a float which shuts off fuel in normal up right position

SOURCE: 07 KTM250exc 2 stroke wont start

Fuel becomes like a gel substance if the bike was not used for some time. There may be some gel blocking the main jet of your carburetor. If the gel formed in the tank, it may take a while to reach the carburetor. That may be why it operated without a problem for a while.

Bike dont want to start got spark and feul benstanding for 5months now
Todays fuel is so full of crap that if left standing for any length of time will gunge up carb jets. The only solution I\'m sorry to say will be a full strip and clean of the fuel system & carbs. If you don\'t know what you are doing get someone who does. Stripping a carb is no job for the uninitiated.

Good gas or old gas? Gas lying around in high temperatures goes off. If compression is good and timing is correct then engine must start. Has the bike being laid up for a lenght of time? Did it just stop? Has someone been at the carb?

I have a super pocket bike x 7 110cc kick start and electric start my carb was leaking bad from the overflow i took the carb apart and cleaned it jets to and put it all back together overflow dose not leak...
hey Steve, you put the carb back together incorrectly somewhere.. take it to a qualified professional, let him check it and reassemble it... it wil be fine after doing this... --Check the air filter.. make sure its clean...

Bike laid up for two yrs after a crash. repaired it last summer, replaced the battery and seafoamed the carbs. ran fine drove fine. laid it up over this winter and now the battery is dead and the alterntor...
alternator may have burned out not causing the charge or it could be the regulator not sending the current around properly can take of the alternator for a look for any burn scarring is noticeable can the check the voltage of the battery when running if dying is a sign of alternator not working is an easy enough job just be careful with the seal dont break it as may result in oil leak also when removing case if a bit tight a tip with a mallet will loosen it enough may be some oil loss but wont be much hope it can help lol also alternator is located left side of the bike middle fairing will need to come off and cover for the small sprocket also will be behind the casing

2006 Virago 250 carburator problem
try removing the spark plugs . if there dirty clean the with a wire brush.. check the gaps on them are the same . might not be a bad idea to get new one.. if that doesent work its probably that your carbs are dirty or blocked.. if you leave your bike laid up too long the unburnt feul in the carbs evaporates and th additives in it remain and turn to goo.... a couple of hours work at your local garage.. wont cost much.. dont mess with them if your not sure

Hard starting wont idel lack of power

Is the kill switch on? Good battery? The side stand should be up. Is the choke on? Is the bike in neutral? Have you checked the fuses? Headlight should be off.

Get new stock plugs from the dealer. Check to see that the choke will open and close properly. Drain the carbs then remove and clean the fuel valve water trap bowl. Check the wiring harness for unplugged wires and loose connections. When was the last time you installed an air filter?

Hi,
1.Do you have a fuel filter? maybe it's clogged up, and needs to be cleaned or replaced.
2.If no fuel filter, it could be you need to clean your carburateur.
hope its the first, but no worries if it's the second, it's quite easy to do.
hope it starts soon, so you can get back to riding.
