SOURCE: Cannot remove the carbs (Physically).

If you can get or cut an allen key that will fit the bolts holding the inlet manifold(the rubber things between carbs and engine)then you could try taking those off. Otherwise you may have to drop te engine.

SOURCE: trouble removing carbs on 96 CBR 600 F3

Theres a big lip holding it. Make sure all cables and pipes/hoses are removed, spray with some WD40 or similar spray lube and then try prying it with something that won't damage the carbs or engine.

SOURCE: How do I replace starter on 2000 sportster

You must remove the primary to reach 2 bolts holding in the starter. This is a pretty big job, first completely loosen the clutch cable, remove the derby cover, disconnect clutch cable, remove inspection cover, drain primary fluid, loosen primary chain tension er, remove shifter linkage, remove primary cover ( use a Styrofoam board to place bolts in order due to different lenghts), remove ramp and ball assembly ( need snap ring plyers), using a tool to lock the clutch basket and primary drive remove bolts( I don't remember which but one removes left hand), you now can reach the bolts holding in the starter. As I stated this is a pretty big job and you should have a manuel before starting, if you don't want to buy one you can check one out at most library's. Reverse to install and remember LOCK TITE everything.

Replace themostst

Hello ,

The thermostat is located on the right side of the engine looking in,between the intake manifold and the air filter box, underneath the wiring. This is in a 1994 Ford Probe GT 6 cylinder.

To replace the thermostat, you really need to remove the intake manifold and this can be up to two or three hours work alone, even for a qualified mechanic.

It is in the housing at the engine end of the upper rad hose. When replacing it make sure the spring on the thermostat is toward the engine.

NOTE: Remove the air intake box so you can see below. There is a pipe running right into the bell housing where the thermostat is housed. There is one bolt that you need to remove (it is to the right, below the distributor) Then there are the other 12 mm bolts on the bell of the thermostat housing to remove. After removing those the thermostat should be able to come right out.

Thank you, hope this helps you out.

I need to replace a thermostat on a 1986 suburban

when you're facing the engine its the biggest hose on your left going from the radiator to the intake manifold undo the hose clamp on the hose connected the intake manifold pull the hose off, undo the 2 bolts that hold the thermostat housing on (the part that you just pulled the hose off of) pull the thermostat out it will just be sitting there no wires or bolts holding it down, put new one in same way, scrape thermostat housing clean of excess gasket or gasket sealant aswell as the intake manifold. replace the gasket seal it up with high temp r.t.v sealant (gasket sealer) usually comes in a tube an the color is red. bolt thermostat housing back down connect the radiator house, check anti-freeze level an you're good to go

Need to replace the themostat

  • Remove the bolts that hold the thermostat housing onto the intake manifold of the MR2 with an adjustable wrench and pull up on the thermostat housing to remove it from the intake. The housing is still connected to the hose. Lift the thermostat housing and the hose up to drain the antifreeze back into the radiator.
  • 2 Remove the old thermostat from the hole inside of the intake manifold and replace it with a new one. Pull the thermostat gasket off of the top of the intake manifold and wipe the manifold clean with a towel.
  • 3 Place a bead of RTV gasket maker around the bottom edge of the thermostat housing and allow it to dry for 15 minutes. Place the thermostat housing back onto the intake manifold and bolt the housing back into place. Allow 15 more minutes of drying time and slightly tighten the bolts again. This will form a solid seal between the intake manifold and the thermostat housing.

1994 GMC Safari. Rear a/c unit. I want to replace

It is not necessary to remove the ac lines for removal of the intake manifold.Remove the bolts that hold the ac compressor and it will allow enough room to access the intake.Make sure you mark the location of the number one cylinder on the distributor before removal.

How do I replace a starter 94 cadillac with a northstar engine

The starter on the Northstar engine is nestled in intake valley underneath the intake manifold. You must first disconnect the negative battery terminal and then relieve the fuel pressure. After you will have to remove the intake assembly to get at the starter which then after that its pretty basic to remove the starter.
Just be sure to torque the bolts on the intake back to spec when reassembling (torque specs are written on the intake manifold in bold yellow lettering from what I can recall).
With these complicated cars you are better off joining a site like caddyinfo.com and reading their how-to forums and asking other Cadillac owners for advice. It`s very easy when you know what you`re confident and have some simple mechanical ``know-how``.

Need informtion removing the Intake Manifold on 2002 PT Cruiser to replace plugs and wiring

Removing the intake is no prob. on these. Assuming this is a non turbo model, you remove the two bolts holding the egr tube flange at the back of the intake. You will have a couple wire clips you need to dissconect and small vacum hoses that will be easily noticable as you try to move the intake aside, but there is a row of small bolts at the front inbetween the intake rails holding the upper intake to the lower. Seperate the manifold by removing these bolts. it has rubber gaskets that stay right with the manifold you do not need to replace at reassembley. This will allow you to move it far enough to change the plugs. Hope this helps.
