SOURCE: Toyota Hiace 99 Fuel filter change

Look first right rear back under fuel tank,< If not, follow fuel lines from fuel tank one main line, one return line, traveling parallel to frame all the way to the motor compartment on front, can be front under right passenger side, first by the filter at the auto parts, that way you will know what to look for

SOURCE: How do you disassemble toyota hiace 2006 dash?

Its easy, The only tool you need is a plastic lever tool. Or can be done with big head screw driver (but car for the trims for it can get damaged)
Lever both side vents out, then pull on the trim gently outwards. (long piece from glove box to the end of the radio before the instrumental dash panel) Then pull the main inturmental dash out towards you as well. There may by plugs connected to the front panel. Disconnect that and it exposes the digital meter, I think it then takes only 2 x 10m bolts and the dash is out.

60 series toyota cruiser has trouble changing gears only 1st 2nd gear auto

You have a stuck solenoid in the auto, The only way to fix it is to remove the solenoids and manually free them up, This means removing the oil and oil pan and removing the solenoids.

Crunchy gears

try changing the gear / transmission fluid first, this may ease up the gearing. but if it still there then you might have a problem with the clutch lining. have a mechanic to replace it.
