Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To my understanding, most of these China made scooters uses a vacuum controlled cut-off fuel valve. Vacuum is tapped either from the carb out or intake coupler to activate and allow fuel flow; no vacuum no fuel from tank. Possibilities are:

  • no or little vacuum to allow fuel flow;
  • vacuum controlled cut-off fuel valve faulty.
A workaround is to install a manual cut-off or bypass it entirely.

Incidentally, the 'revs like mad' is a result of slight overflow when fuel first flows to a starved/empty carb bowl.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Adjust your valves.
as jinlun motors wear the valve clearance closes.
thus when it warms up there will be no compression.
and act's like its out of gas..

Why won't the saw run other than when the choke is in the 1/2 position and dies whenever throttle is applied?

Your carb is starving gas from your saw. You will have to remove the carb. and take it apart, check the diaphragms for hardening or splitting, clean all passages and screen. There is a lot of small parts that have to be put back together correctly, also the diaphragms and their gaskets have to be installed right.

My 50cc moped sometimes won't start when I kick it off it smell of petrol could it be flooded and how can I fix this problem

Is there a fuel petcock or on/off switch? It could be filling the carb with fuel while its not running. Turn it off while its not running if it has one if not you may need to replace the needle an seat in the carb.

Clean carborator

You've proved the problem is fuel not getting through carb. Most likely clogged fuel filter (replace but first flush out the tank and line to filter). Next, broken fuel line (brittle with age); take piece to hardware store for sizing and replace with "fuel line" - nothing else(!). Still no? Soak carb in cleaner, otherwise replace it.
That should do it, please let me know.

Moped will start but when I reach 20mph moped looses power

Carb needs to be cleaned. It is allowing enough gas to run at low speeds but when trying to go faster it starves for gas.

Brand new (69)miles won't stay running kicks but dies, still on 1st tank of gas tried reserve same thing can hear gas in tank.sprint moped not motorcycle 50cc

1. does fuel flow from the fuel hose to the carb?
2. do the floats in the carb allow gas to enter?
3. is the filter screen in the carb clean?
4. Is the main jet clean?
5. Is the pilot screw port clean?
6. See mopedarmy.com or mopedriders.org

if all else fails turn off the choke

My 50cc mini bike starts then dies 5 secs after starting. why?

It sounds like you may have 2 problems

  • Bad gas
  • dpossible loose spark plug( bad compression)

Solution

dump out the gas put new in
Remove the spar plug and examine the plug if it is wet and black it is fouled
if it is white ad dry it is not getting gas

If you can replace the spark plug if not just clean it with a wire brush put back in and tighten

Finally make sure the spark plug wire is not lose

Best of luck to you
