The regulator /rectifier changes the AC output of the alternator to dc voltage (rectifying) and then limits the dc voltage charging the battery/ powering the electric system. If your battery is discharging so your bike will not stay running and correspondingly not crank over after running, that could be one of the charging systems components gone bad. But if it just stops running could be numerous things. One solution could be problem with side stand safety switch.
SOURCE: What mpg does the 2009 suzuki boulevard m90 get?
Suzuki claims its 44mpg, I would guess no more then 46, no less then 40 if you don't over due the speed. The actual amount of miles per gallon that you will receive depends upon a huge amount of factors that calculate into the equation of fuel efficiency. Factors will include: Above all is there any modifications to the engine? Is the engine clean? (Exterior and Interior) Are all of the fluids/filters/gaskets new, medium, old or shot? Are you using a higher octane? Variance in speed and the amount of starts and stops both cold and stop and go traffic? Are your spark plugs clean? There are quite a few variables that would play into it some that are big and some that are small. Click here to find out more!
