1984 aspencade starts w/choke and revs up, runs smooth. Take off

1984 aspencade starts w/choke and revs up, runs smooth. Take off choke, engine cuts right out. The bike was stored two winters and has fresh gas. checked fuel flow and put out 50 cc in 5 seconds as it should. When bike warms up, can rev it up with choke partially on but is doggy. Can take choke off with higher revs but cuts out when I leave throttle return to idle position. Can you help??

carbs could be suffering from gummed up components. run some Berrymans B12 fuel additive in the tank at double dose, run til hot then leave to stand overnight and pray hard. hopefully all will be well, or use a carb cleaner sprayed direct in the carb, also let this sit overnight

My 'wing won't run unless it has been warmed up some. I would suggest that you r&r your carbs to make sure the jets in the bottom are working correctly. They tend to get plugged up, especially after sitting & the aluminum flaking off inside... Rick

I would be suspecting a faulty condenser and coil as when they reach operating temperature they start to break down electrically.. Check that the auto choke is coming off and not tending to over fuel the engine

My honda cb750f will not run without the choke being out

Vacuum leak.

Check all mating surfaces, any place where a vacuum line attaches, with a short spray of carb cleaner while running, when you find the leak, it will smooth out and speed up on it's own. And if EGR equipped- make sure the EGR is closing fully when cold and when hot at idle.

This sounds like a fuel flow problem. I suggest removing and rebuilding and cleaning the entire system, meaning Carbs, filters and strainers in the tank. Old fuel turns to gel, and floats absorb fuel, sometimes, so inspedt everything. When finished set carbs with carb sticks, both at idle and at 2000 RPM, using hand throttle.

Engine over-run between gears

This is a very common problem for ford. I have the same thing every day. It is the computer not reading the temp. When it does that just tap the gas pedal.

START VEHICLE, IDLES AT ABOUT 600REVS, IF LEFT SITTING AT IDLE IT JUST GETS FASTER AND FASTER AND WILL REV TO 2000+ REVS CHECKED LINKAGES AND LUBED

Sounds like a engine warming up and the choke opening without being allow thh reset the linkage. When it does that, tap the throttle and see if it drops to proper idle. choke may need adjustment for standing warm up. good luck
