Has the 85 Honda CBX250 got an oil filter, where is it?
I've changed the engine oil many times in the 85 Honda CBX250 but is there an oil filter and/or strainer which requires servicing, where is it located and how do you get to it please??
Thanks for that it was really helpful, just a couple of further comments:
My bike did not have a spacer, all three bolts were same length.
The filter is a replaceable paper element type.
Make sure that the O ring seals particularly on the discharge port is serviceable or leaks will result.

The oil filter is located just above the dip stick/ oil mesuring stick. The oil cover is held in place with three bolts. The lower bolt has a spacer bewteen the cover and the engine.

Your oil filter is too tight, causing the rubber gasket to tork and not seal,I've done it on my 85 nissan 720.Everytime I do a oil change,I have to make sure I don't over tighten filter.Loosen a little bit, wipe all oil up so you will know if it's fixed. You may have to replace filter if gasket is messed up from overtightening.
Yes you should change that oil filter every oil change. If you don't the oil filter will become full of contaminants. After it gets so full, oil can no longer circulate through the oil filter and a switch hits inside the oil filter sealing oil flow through it and at this point the contaminants rather than being filtered just circulate throughout the engine doing damage to your engine at will.
honda's run on any fule but stick to 98 if you can as for oil yes synthetic oil is ok a good service wont do any harm so if you can do it yourself all the better
This happens because the oil filter needs to be free of air. When the oil pressure sensor drops below a certain value it shuts off the injectors because the PCM. This is a good feature because if you run out of oil for any reason it should stop the engine before damage occurs.
The filter cover is located just above the dipstick and retained by three set bolts 8mm hex. Main cover seal is by a large O ring and there is a smaller O ring at the discharge port. The filter element is a paper type renewable cartridge and is fitted with a spring on the inner side and a rubber seal against the cover (outer side). Best to change the oil and filter when engine is warm/hot - caution hot oil! Thanks FixYa you were a help.

The honda xr125 and honda cg125 have the same engine. I have changed the oil several times on my xr125 and I can confirm that you follow the same procedure for both bikes. There is also an oil change demo on youtube for the cg125:
