The cost will cover the removal of the old one, fitting of the new one and a colour matched paint job. (The most expensive part as it involves a lot of labour) If the rust has penetrated the roof then this is only one of the repair options. You could have it patch repaired but the paint job will still make it expensive. If the rust hasn't penetrated, you could rub it down, treat the rust and then paint ( Paint costs will be lower as it will be a chip repair paint job.)

automotive paints require a good clean and well prepared surface like light waterpaper sanding to remove any oily or fatty resedu and the correct undercoat before applying a new coatings otherwise it will not last chipping or peeling will occur.

Use a paint stripper to remove old paint. Use a phosphoric acid base rust converter to remove rust .Clean and dry Use pressure pack under coat and finish coat spraying on lightly with several coats.

I would call a body & paint shop. They would be able to give you an accurate quote for the painting.

you might try a product called TR3 [ avalable at most part stores ] its a rubbing compound .I used it to remove spray paint on my recoverd stolen pick-up . I havent tryed it on window paint but 7 dollors is alot cheaper than new paint if it works

NO,but it is normal for the paint to bubble on some plastic trims due to their makeup/type of plastic.the corrosion warranty is not worth the paper you use in the toilet...."applicable only if the paint surface is not broken and rust has taken place under the surface of the paint layers"(how do you know if its rust without breaking the surface to see.........)

your correct, if you wait about a year you will notice rust in those spots

water based paint to comply with new regs brought out in 94 ,repaint job ,prepare and use domestic two pack epoxy paint ,apply with a small lambs wool roller and you will not notice the difference,plus it is 16yr old banger

Try rust restore solution if you are wanting to do this your self Sherwin Williams sells a product called Ospho wipe or spray on and ready to paint
Converts rust to a Matte black won't discolor your paint
