BlackBerry 8700g Won't Switch On

I dropped my BlackBerry 8700g. The screen went blank. I switched it off and tried to switch on again, but no luck. I tried a soft reset (Alt+Cap+Del), but again no luck. I removed and re-inserted the battery; the LED lights up RED for a few seconds and then goes off. Still it does not switch on. I tried a hard reset; again still does not switch on. If I do a soft reset, the LED comes on for a few seconds and then goes off. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I downloaded software from the internet and got a message with option to reboot, which Iselected(nothing unusual) then i get the grey screen with "JVN" error 102 and the "reset" option. Selecting reset has the same result. Have tried removing the battery but same screen appears.

I have never been able to link the device to my laptop although I have installed the software.

Supplier indicates the phone needs to be sent to RIM in Canada - I am in South Africa, Africa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same problem - i dropped my phone and screen does not swicth on, although the LED lights up red for a few seconds. The phone is on, cos it rings when a call comes through, any help????

same thing, dropped my 8700g in a parking lot and pieces flew in different directions and I knew exactly what I was in for...the screen goes white when I try and make it work, I put in the battery and I get (random and inconsistent) patterns of flashing lights, some red, some yellow (like the battery low light)

unbelievably frustrating, I had a similar problem about a month ago where I dropped it and through a random process of plugging it in and taking the battery in and out i was able to fix it. totally pissed at the moment.

BB8700 frooze , then I switched it off and on - blank screen. Then off-and on again (battery out) and then: nothing. Just the red light that switches on when I put the battery back in. Nothing else.

Usually when these symptoms occur after a drop it indicates the hardware is damaged. You could try to wipe and reload the operating system, but it is more than like damaged and in need of repair. I have seen that happen a lot after the device is dropped.

Blackberry screen is blank and indicater blinking but phone not getting rebooted

Sounds like a corrupted OS once again, try a battery pull if you haven't already.

Next you'll want to do a device wipe and fresh OS install, this is easily done with Desktop Manager or BBSAK

Blank white screen on my blackberry 8520 curve from switch on

Sounds like your screen is physically broken. If your Somebody needs to open your Blackberry and replace it. If you want somebody else to do it for you go to Blackberry Repair. If you want to do it yourself, here is an Blackberry 8520 Repair Guide that shows how to repair a Blackberry.

Blackberry pearl wont switch on

It looks battery completly drained and dead (as It took so much time), the best way first to check "Circuit" status in Battery through Voltmeter (poles)..or another way go to any cell phone shop and give a trial with another batterty to check status of your unit.

The screen just went blank. It was lit up, but no display. So I turned it off and on a couple of times, to no avail. So I tried to take the battery out and put it back in and now it won't even turn on

well, try recharging the battery and restarting your phone.
the fact that it won;t turn on leads me to believe it's battery.
the blackberry is a really good phone, is it possible the screen could have been damaged in any way. If the LCD is broken without being cracked that could be the issue.
the LCD is plugged into the motherboard and if the phone was dropped could have come unplugged or the LCD could be damaged.
The phone could actually be on and the lcd is blank.
Hard to say about any of it.
You could go to a blackberry provider store and ask them to borrow a battery out of one of their phones and check it.

Was entering addresses into my wifes (new to her 8700g), I must have touched something because the screen went from the picture format to plain blue screen with (not all!)the pics replaced by blue screen...

it might not have been you could have been the phone because i have blackberry and it freezes now and again but i have never had a blue screen before.i would ask the manufacture or take it back and get a new one.

Full hard format for blackberry 8700g

To delete all the data, go into Options / Security Options / General Settings, clik the wheel and then click Wipe Handheld.

This will remove all of the DATA, and not any of the applications.
