Front & rear lights illuminate but no turn signal or break lights, I did find a short whereas after a rear bearing went out at 65mph the tire rubbed into one of the rear lights cable shorting the red & black. I checked the fuse with the fluke, not blown as I expected. I've taken it all apart from the wiring connector as to add a Badlands "Illuminator" After unplugging the rear connector for the lights, I expected the front turn signals would work but not. Is it possible that there is further damage? I have a wiring diagram but it doesn't show a turn/brake signal module. I spoke with J&P they said the Badlands module would cure it??? Thanks for the help.
Not familiar with the Softail Rocker, but the 2009 Baggers have a "Turn Signal Security Module" (TSSM) as one unit.
This is what it looks like:

Mine is under the seat.
Testimonial: "Stretch thanks, I found the signal cancelling unit but the wire from that goes under & behind the battery, but not sure. I've been reading the (TSSM) might need to be reset? That's what the Badlands Illuminator literature refers to but not sure if the TSSM, could be damaged or how to test it? All of the lights flash when I turn the bike off so I think the TSSM module is working in that aspect."
Sorry Strech.
Pull the error codes. To retrieve fault codes: With engine run/stop switch in the RUN position, hold odometer reset button while turning ignition switch to ON position. Speedometer back lights wil come on, needle swings to top speed position, indicator lights will come on. Release reset button. "diag" should display in odometer. Push and release odometer reset button. The letter "P" will flash (ECM/ICM info obtainable). Record any error codes. If none are present, "NONE" will scroll across screen. Press and hole reset button for more than 5 seconds to go to next mode ("S" = TSM/TSSM/HFSM mode). When done with all modes, switch off ignition. Post any error codes.
OK, after DIAG "P" SSPtb, "P"=none then PN 32919-076, then went into the "S"=none then PN 69976-08, next "SP"=none then PN 67517-08, "t"= no rSP, "b"= no rSP
So the TSSM IS reading the module (PN 69976-08), and it seems you have no error codes. Does the Badlands Illuminator literature tell how to reset the TSSM?
Here's the reset procedure:
always wait for confirmation before hitting the next step: step # 1. move handle bar kill switch to off position step # 2. turn your ignition key: on-off, on-off then on step # 3. hit the left turn signal twice. your turn signals and indicator light will flash 1 - 3 flashes step # 4. hit the right turn signal once. turn signals and indicator light will flash once. step # 5. hit the right turn signal once. turn and indicator signals will flash twice. step # 6. hit right turn signal once. turn and indicator signals will flash three times. step # 7. hit left turn signal once. turn and indicator signals flash to indicate error code (see error code thread) step # 8. to now clear codes, hit left turn signal and hold down for 6 seconds until confirmation. turn and indicator signals flash twice. step # 9. turn the ign switch to off
Strech, got it. after no results on the reset I decided to also check out the accessories fuse "blown" the fuse for the lights was ok. Everything's fine, probably didn't even need the Badlands "Illuminator" module but I do like the brightness. I really appreciate your help. I can't say thank you enough.
Whoops! When you said you checked THE fuse, I musta misread it as you checked ALL the fuses. Well, at least now you know you don't have any stored error codes.

SOURCE: need to know the tire pressure for 01 XL1200C front and rear
Hi .... manual states 30 front & 36 rear, I find 36 front & 40 rear good for single & two up riding. Tyre pressures are measured when cold.
SOURCE: Speedo, turn signals, brake lights, horn stopped working. All else is fine.
Gap your plugs to 38 thou. Check all your bulbs (one burned out will affect the rest) Take a look at all your fuses and make sure they are all ok. Otherwise you are probably looking at a wiring short which will require trouble shooting of the elctrical system. Buy your self a service manual for your bike, this will help you a lot.
SOURCE: My rear tail light does not work when the front
You should have two filaments in the reat taillight lamp, one for tail light and one for brake light. You are not confusing these filaments/functions are you?
What you seem to be saying to me is that you have a lamp that had no tail light filament (burned out) but does have a brake light filament still intact.
Remove the light and check it visually and/or with a contunity tester.
I hope this helps you ...

First, I'd try replacing the bulbs in both the front and rear turn signals. See what happens, that's pretty inexpensive to try.
The turn signals are controlled by the turn signal cancelling unit. You didn't mention if the problem was on just one side or if it was on both sides of the bike. I'd try to find someone that had a known good unit that would allow me to try it. The reason, they're expensive. The last one I installed cost nearly $150.
