SOURCE: why wont my suzuki bandit 250 start?

If you tried to start the engine for any length of time, the plug would be damp and smell of petrol because fuel was being drawn into the combustion chamber. Without spark to ingnite the mixture, it would cause the plug to become damp. I am assuming you fitted the correct spark plug and that it is gapped correctly.

I don't mean this to sound foolish, but I would suggest you make certain the emergency kill switch has not been accidentally switched off. Also, if you have a sidestand safety interlock that prevents the engine being started while the side stand is down, flip up the sidestand and try again to start it.

Additionally, to make sure the plug wire is securely fitted to the plug. It is possible that the inside of the plug wire cap has gathered moisture and may need to be wiped dry.

If none of the above suggestions solve the problem, remove the plug then reconnect it to the plug wire and hold it near the cylinder - but not near the plug hole in the cylinder head (fuel vapors) - while pressing the starter . You should see an obvious spark. No spark likely means the coil is faulty.

SOURCE: 1999 suzuki 800 maurader misfiring

did this just start all of a sudden or after being stored for a while? if it was stored then try new fuel, check and change fuel filter, and get some fuel system cleaner that goes in the gas tank, run til hot then let stand overnight. and try, old gas can gum up carbs starving the enging of fuel.

SOURCE: Suzuki bandit 1996 will not start

If you have spark and still the bike is not starting ( and the timing on the spark is correct) make sure you got fuel flowing to the engine, if fuel is getting there and still the engine doesn't start, check the cylinder head and pistons and make sure you got compression. These are the problems that can cause a bike not starting. Hope it helps

GSF 600 won't idle and has poor throttle response.

If it was running fine when you got the bike it makes me wonder how you discovered the spark plugs were rotten? Clearly they weren't very rotten...

Spark plug gaps rarely need adjusting these days prior to fitting, mostly just checking to ensure a gap hasn't been closed due to being dropped is all that is needed. I am wondering if you made the elementary mistake of confusing metric and imperial measurements; I apologise if you find the suggestion insulting.

If it wasn't an elementary mistake, I think you should begin a systematic fault diagnosis by checking the spark power and quality.

Check you air cleaner ,and change your plugs ,they could be breaking down and not giving a good spark at high revs .

unlikely. If u don't work on your bike the best thing u can do is take it back to whoever did the plugs and tell them to fix it.

wont realy change the sound at all, would be a waste of money. in my opinion dump the whole exhaust system because it stranles the engine and replace with a de-catted system, you may still be able to use the yoshi end can
