How do i check the oil level and where do i fill? yamaha vigaro 250, 2002 model

Look at the right side of your engine at the bottom, you will see a small round glass where you can see the oil level. The bike has to be level for you to get an accurate reading. The filler plug is on the same side of the engine on the top of the crankcase cover.

Fluctuating... you mean the level is getting low, then getting over filled?
.. to check it.. make sure you are always on level ground.. the bike is always level,, and wait check the level at least one minute after stopping the engine.
Check the oil the exact same way each time to eliminate human error!!

How do you check the engine oil level on a 1999 Yamaha 1100 V-Star Custom?

On the riders left side of engine...near the front...find the fill cap for adding oil....now look directly below and you will find a round window on the side of the crankcase down low. Usually Yamaha has two marks on the crankcase beside the window for Min and Max oil level.
Usually half way between works best.

How do you cheak the oil on a 1997 1100 virago

Motorcycles generally use one of three methods to check oil level.

1. A "sight glass" or small window which will allow you to see the oil level. (it should be at the mid point of the sight glass. Check it with the bike upright and not leaning on the kickstand.

2. The fill plug may have a short dipstick attached to it just like a car would. Again check it with the bike upright.

3. If no other method is used, then open the fill plug and fill until the oil level just reaches the lowest part of the fill hole without spilling out. Once again do this with the bike in the upright position.

Check to make sure the rubber O-ring is in good condition and is properly seated on the fill plug while you are at it!

With the bike on the main stand and on level ground, the oil level should be at the top of the sightglass. Be careful to only check the level when the bike is in this position as if it not, it will alter the oil level in the sightglass. I fill the oil to this level in all my bikes.

How much oil should you put in after it has been drained?

To get an volume answer you need to give the year and model. If you have an oil check window hold the bike level and fill to the top mark of the window. If you have a dipstick , fill to the top of the dipstick. It should take between 3 and 4 quarts for most street bikes. 1 to 3 Quarts for most off road bikes.
