Most have two wires within the bulb. Just so happens one wire burnt out. If it is a blade style bulb you can flip it and the tail light will work and brake light will not

SOURCE: Brake lights don't work, although bulbs are good.

If a switch is bad, it will only affect that brake, not both. If the bulb is good, then i suggest it must be the fuse for the brake lights, located in the fuse box, either under the seat, or behind one of the plastic side plates.
Even though the bulb may look good, it still is worth replacing it, to eliminate that source of the problem.

sounds like dirt in the carb. If left for a while the petrol will go off and clog up the jets in the carb. I suggest replacing the fuel and cleaning out the carb.

SOURCE: my sparkplug on my sym symply 50 moped keeps on

Unfortunately this is a critical area and the spark plug threads are important because the plugs needs to be tight as well as hold the compression without any leak.
So since the thread on the cylinder is worn out then it requires that a new thread be tapped into or the cylinder head must be changed. Use of any metal filler or adhesive may not be good in the long run or is dependable.
