When I checked the crankcase oil level, the crankcase was full of gasoline and oil. What could cause this ?
If I am understanding this correctly, with gas in the crankcase, it is usually a stuck float needle that is allowing fuel to drain into the chamber and run down past the piston. The best way to remedy this is to remove the carb and clean it thoroughly.
This will also happen if it has sat for awhile and the fuel will gum up and keep the needle from closing.
If you don't want to pull the carb, pull the bowl and look in the bottom. If there is anything in there besides gas (dirt, minerals, etc.), the carb need cleaning and you may need to replace the needle as well.
Hope this helps
