Http://low.es/16Iruws When I pull the cord it does not come out past a few inches. Not possible to start the trimmer now. Please help.
Your String needs to be re-wound. You are almost out of string or your string has Jammed under the Motor and placing a DRAG on the Trimmer
Todd, thanks for the diagnosis. Do you happen to know how to fix this? What is the next step I could take?
Todd, You do realize that I'm talking about the engine starter string right? I'm not sure how I could be "almost out of string" since the length of this string never changes
BOTH Strings can cause the Issue. I have seen the STRING on the Bottom get Jammed in between the SPOOL and the FRAME. That is where I would start first.... If that is FREE SPOOLING, then you need to take the Recoil off and then turn it by hand. You should also pull the Spark Plug to give you that little extra ease. The Recoil Jammed does not happen nearly as often as the Spool. If the Recoil is Free Spooling, then your motor may have Seized over the Winter.. I do hope you Winterized it correctly... When did the problem start? Maybe more information about when it started and the cause would help us get it going again....
Todd, thanks for the comment. I will try removing the spark plug and turning it by hand as you suggest. For winter I simply emptied the gas the same as the past two winters. Could you let me know what I should have done different?
Run STABIL into the Gas, Run it for a few minutes to ensure that the fuel get into the Carb, Empty the Fuel, Run it DRY but the problem is the BOWL still has Fuel in it... So the BEST thing to do is to Remove the BOWL and SPRAY CARB CLEANER to get it all out... Carb Cleaner will vaporize and leave no residue.

you need to rotate the starter pulley up first to tension the spring.... then feed in your rope tie a not and let it retract the rope into the starter pulley
