2003 Kawasaki KX 125 Sputters at high RPM

The bike starts first kick every time with no choke compression is great but it sputters in high RPMs as if there was a rev limiter I was told it was the Jets because it does have full pro circuit exhaust but I was also told its the spark plug cap because with my YZ 125 when I put the cap on spark plug it clicked in and I could hear the click, with this bike when I plug it in there is no click at all please send advice or tips...I'm pulling my hair out here, people

SOURCE: wont start by kick start but will by pull start

it could be the gaskets around your carb are bad and leaking air if so its thinning your gas fumes with more air then what is needed inside your combustion chamber witch is causing your engine to stop running like that. best of luck

SOURCE: kx 125 problems

it runs but sputters.
that can be 2 things.
First idd your sparkplug cap has had it (get a new 1 from the parts store)
2nd it could be that your getting to much fuel in top end of your revband.
easy to check just run your bike a few min with a new sparkplug and look at the color.
Wite is not enough fuel.
Brown is perfect mix.
black is to much oil and if black and wet its to much fuel.
try this test and maybe you'll find it

Kx 125 sputtering in high rpms

check and make sure choke is opening all the way,if it is only opening part way could explain why you don't need to use choke at all to start and then at higher rpm's it is not getting enough air causing it to basically choke it self out.

Whats up with my bike?

jet size and exhaust muffler are not connected
failing at high rpms indicates a problem coil or capacitor or failing ignition control module
if it has points or cdi ignition it could be from worn shaft that is wobbling at speed causing the miss

How to find out compression problem on a 2003 kx 250

Just cause the piston looks fine dosent mean the rings are still good did you do a compression test if you don't have one buy one they are great to have with 2 stroke bikes put the cylinder head back on and cover spark plug hole with finger it should first **** a bit then should blow finger off the hole the compression should be greater than 120 psi of a 125 not sure on the 250 rule of thumb if you have less than 120 your piston or rings is pooched..

Have barely any compression at all but still starts after a lot of kicks.

turn off the key, hold the choke button and keep on kicking the crank handle for a few times but dont turn on the accellarator, After that turn on the key and release the choke button and slowly turn on the accellarator after every kick

Bike wont kick start or idle , it will coast

first drain the carby, then set your air mixture screw 2 turns out, from the fully turned in position. The starting proceedure is as follows, when the engine is COLD, turn on fuel, pull on the choke fully, and kick the engine over. DO NOT use any throttle, when the engine is cold, and the choke is on. Remember Choke on, NO throttle.
When warm, no choke, and a little throttle when kicking.
