Question about Motorcycles
Engine was done over, every thing is fine. Engine starts if petrol is added to carburaror but it seems as if the petrol does not go through to the engin by the carborator Engine will run for about one min with petrol added to carburator. Water came into carburator after engine gascet got damaged.
There is a blockage in the carb. you really need to pull it apart and clean, use carb cleaner which is a water repellant if available. i am presuming petrol is flowing from fuel pipe ok.

Hi
I have been working on my carb today, the pipe from the bottom of the carb should just run down by the bottom of the swinging arm, there should be another pipe from the pipe on the left side of the carb just above the fuel intake which also runs down to the swinging arm and connect to nothing.
Cheers

SOURCE: Fuel from engine breather pipe
There are just three ways for fuel to get into the top end. As mentioned, bad valve guides (exhaust guides are just as old as the intake guides). Bad rings with raw fuel getting past the rings. Either way, fuel is getting up there. Time for a valve job and fresh bore with new pistons and rings. If able to find the parts, I would also install new cam chain and tensioner. You have a very early CB450. Today's VIN numbers have 17 numbers. That is what didn't seem right.
.
Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. I already checked and a lot of parts are available for your bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part, the part is not in stock. www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrandand/parts.aspx
.
You can also Google 'vintage motorcycle parts honda" and find stuff there.

SOURCE: Hi I have a 1967 bsa bantam d10 175cc. The bike
the bike can run on unleaded but it will be rough .
you mwill have loss of power and radical .
what i would suggest is to ask a mechanic about the effects of unleaded petrol to an old engin .
all i know is that the bike will run as i did it to my old BMW and all i had to do is replace some gaskets .
Best of luck .

Yes, the float or the float needle is sticking in an open position. The only other possibility is a float that has a pinhole in it and has filled with petrol and will no longer float as it should.
