If my 2005 ultra sets two weeks it only clicks when I hit the starter button , usually if i put it in gear and rock it it will then start on one occassion I had to push down hill to start , but then once it has been started I can shut it off and start right back up an it will start every time unless it sits two weeks or more , i have replaced the battery and am thinking I need to replace the started , maybe it has a short in it .

Two weeks is an eternity for a motorcycle battery. There is no short in your starter. Get yourself a 'battery maintainer', about $25.00 where I live. It is a very small trickle charger that will keep your battery up to snuff during those days when your lonely motorcycle waits patiently for you to reappear to once again, have fun together.

Your maintainer will come with a wire which you trim and attach permanently to your battery. When you return from an outing, simply plug the maintainer into the cord on your Electra Glide to assure a instant start in two weeks when you return.

I have a 2005 brute force 750 and put a starter on it and when I hit the start button it just spins the starter and it doesn't sound like the flywheel is spinning. What can I do to find my problem

When you first turn the key to"on" most starter posts pop out to engage into the flywheel gears. If you don't hear a click when turning the key to "on" re-check the wiring.

I have full electric power and a new battery . When I hit the start button it clicks at the fuse . It has a new starter switch .

Ok, providing your battery is good, if your getting a click, means your circuit is good from the Battery to the start button on to the starter relay(is what you hear clicking). You need to look at your starter motor. Either bad earth to starter motor or worn brushes in the starter motor. There are a few other possibly causes but id inspect the motor first before going into those as there a bit more advanced problem.

Why doesn't my 2007 Ford Mustang start

it sounds like the dog gear on the motor is stuck, try putting it in gear and rocking the car back and forth a few times, take it out of gear and try the starter again

Make a noise but wont turn on

What type of noise a click? Usually means starter motor not getting enough power to turn over, flay or low battery, or got stuck . Try hitting with a soft mallet. Or put car in gear and rock back and forward, as fly wheel movement may just loosen it off.

Suziki Boulevard C90 wont start, when hitting the ignition nothing happens, but the lights dim

Your starter button is a two position switch. The lights are supposed to go dim when the button is pushed halfway in. When pushed in all the way it should activate the starter solenoid. The starter solenoid is located under the seat next to the battery. You can follow the positive battery cable directly to the starter solenoid. If you push the starter button and the starter solenoid clicks, then the starter button is good. If the you unplug the two smaller wires going to the starter solenoid and connect a voltage meter to the main harness leads , the needle should jump whenever you press the starter button. If it does not clean the button contacts or replace the right switch assembly. If the starter button is good then take a jumper wire and short across the two battery cables on the starter solenoid. This will put power directly to the the starter. If the starter works now replace the starter solenoid. If your starter still does not work, try holding the starter button and tapping on the starter with a plastic hammer. If the starter works now then you probably need to replace the starter brushes. If anything else is wrong with the starter you will need to replace the assembly as the dealer will usually only offer the starter brushes for repair purpose.

I have a 2005 fatboy and i replaced the battery. when i hit the start button the starter relay clicks and nothing happens. all my lights work and the fuel pump kicks on like normal. it just wont start

Sound like starter is stuck. Try giving it a tap with a rubber mallet, while pressing start button. If this does not work, put bike in gear and push it forward a few feet, then try again to start it. If still nothing try using jumper cables on battery, then start. If no go you have a bad starter.

Will not start have manual transmission. when I press down clutch pedal and turn key I just here a click ,all lights on dash light like normal. checked fuses , battery voltage, and clutch switch under...

Either your starter or solenoid is out. You can tell by push starting the vehicle in 2nd gear (you do second gear because there is less strain on it and if for some reason it is damaged, you maintain the use of your vehicle.) if it starts, then drive your vehicle to saturn and have them fix it.....and push for a warranty repair. :D
