Hey what you need to do is just adjust the idle lower and it will quit jumping like that when you put it into gear..

Hi cbloom,
You will have to probabley adjust the clutch either from the end of the cable at the side cover or from the above at the handle lever.

Good Luck .

Make sure clutch ,is disengaging properly when you pull in clutch lever, adjust lever until you have about 1/8" freeplay.if still not disengaging, you need to drain gearbox oil, take clutch cover off & inspect clutch pack, you may have friction plates sticking together.

1985 kawasaki kx 125cc acts like choke is on

When i engage the clutch and select any gear the bike will leap forward and stall. In other words I cannot pull the clutch in and start the bike.

If the bike hasn't been ridden for a while, select top gear, (engine off) and with the clutch pulled in rock the bike back and forth. That may free the clutch.

When i put it into first it jumps and stalls would that be the fluid

dont think its a fluid issue. more like a clutch adjustment either at lever or in mid section of cable if that doesnt fix you might have to replace either clutch cable or clutch disks

Kx 125, wont select gear

Chris make sure that you have put the brass washer back on the drain plug the tolerances of the 03's were so tight that the drain plug going into the case even that tiny extra amount will affect shifting and clutch performance Good Luck

My clutch doesn't engage all the way. i can't kick it in gear while holding the clutch. i can't sit with it in gear while holding the clutch.

try adjust the clutch at the lever if that doesnt work the problem might be that your clutch plates have warped
