When you turn on key, do you hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds ? check fuses, & fuel pump relay,(it has a fuse also). fuel pump cannot be ruled out. next, your coil provides spark to plug wires, with an assistant, in drivers seat, pull off a spark plug wire from a spark plug, use a paper clip, insert into end of wire, with the helper turnning the key to crank engine, hold the wire w/clip about an 1/8 " from clean metal, to see if a spark occurs, wear gloves, or you may get jolted, if you know what I mean. if no spark, replace coil, I would replace plug wires also. remove spark plugs , if worn, replace. just do it !!! you need spark correct ? well then ! whens the last time you replaced fuel filter ? do it ! a new air filter will help also. air, fuel, spark all work together. go to parts store, if you can, see if they can pull any trouble codes . if you can't do the work mentioned above, it just might be your problem . now get to work , make it happen !!!!

Charlie. You have replaced the ECM on your van?.
Kedwin,, Your problem is, the computer on that 3.3 L.
Need to be programed with the VIN nember of your car.
The Antitheft System will disable the injectors due a incorrect VIN, Bucause the body computer is not recieve the correct pasword between 5 seconds after start up.
YOU have 2 options. 1 get a ALOHA Smith. some of they have the computer required to program ECMs.

The other option is: Get a new ECM from the dealer, They will program if ask for that.

NOTE:::::: Other way is . Put the body control module with the computer from the same car.

OK... I hope this work for yours.
If NOT letme know I can look for more information.
Thank you.

SOURCE: My 1997 Dodge Avenger's engine won't start

Try cam and/or crank sensor. If crank to cam timing isn't detected properly it'll crank all day but won't start. I had similar problem on my 2.5L V6 Avenger....drove home fine, no engine light, next morning it cranked, but wouldn't start. The crank sensor was faulty.

2001 dodge stratus 2.7L wont start. Starter, battery, fuel pump is good. Help!

Do the basic tests. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse.
Any applicable trouble codes?

1997 contour 4 cyl cranks but wont start acts like fuel starved

If it acts like it's starved for fuel, it probably is related to that. I would check first though. If you have a carb, you can spray starter fluid inside and then crank it. If it tried to start, then it is fuel related. Probably a fuel pump, fuel filter, or fuel relay, or perhaps a fuse. If it doesn't start for a second, it could be many more things. If so, you should check your ignition system, spark plugs, wires, distributor, coils, ect. If your battery and starter are fine, start looking to see if your car is getting fuel. Hope this helps. Being broke down sucks!

98 dodge avenger es 6 cyl., won't start

Is you battery going dead? How old is the battery? After 4-5 years a battery is bad and needs to be replaced.

It sounds like you didn't replace the alternator?

Do you get a click when you try to start and it wont start?

Also check the grounds on the starter they could have corroded and this would cause an non-normal starting pattern. To chech these locate them, usually close to that starter and screwed into the frame of the vehicle. Unscrew them and take a wire brush and clean them very good making sure to expose bare metal. Do the same to the frame where it is screwed into.

Make sure to unhook you battery before doing anything!

Reply with the answer to the questions and we can go from there.

1995 FORD EXPLORER 4X4 6 CYL 4 DOOR WONT START

Fords have inertia fuel cut off switch. You need to check that first. If you dont have fuel. If you have fuel and no spark you need to check for inj pulse to injector. Make sure no fuses are blown. If no spark and no injector pulse then replace cranksensor.
