Stalling when starting

The bike starts perfectly but give it 2 mins and the bike is struggling to fire, like the engine ie being starved. this is only when the bike is cold. i have replaced the fuel tap, fuel line and filter, carbs, plugs and had them serviced. when the bike is warm it runs fine

I would check that the rubber seals for the Choke circuit are in good shape and that the choke is actually working properly.

If after the two mins ur putting the choke back in and the bike dies, it could be that your needing to adjust the idle speed.
it might just be set on the lower limit so that when ur bike isnt fully warmed up it struggles.

Sounds like it was starving for fuel. First thing to do is check your fuel pump pressure with a gauge. Try sprayinf a little starting fluid into the throttle body to see if it will start. If it does, then you know its a fuel problem.

2005 roadstar silverado starting riding bike cut out, now it wont start, turns over perfect, any ideas?

Hi, you need to first determine if the problem is ignition or fuel related. Spray some starting fluid into the air filter inlet then try to start it. You need to open the throttle 1/4 to 1/2 open. If the engine fires for a few seconds, you have a fuel delivery problem. If the engine does not fire at all, you'll need to verify you have no spark. Then you'll know it's an electrical/ignition problem.

2000 discovery 2 land rover for "4 0l" runs for a half hour the wont start seams like it is starved of fuel whats wrong with it

Check the catalytic converters. Pull the O2 sensor between the engine an cat. If it runs. Replace the catalytic converter/s. Fuel filters can clog up, but they give signs as struggling to keep up at higher speeds. Has pressure, just no volume. The will go forever, say at 55 MPH, but try doing 60 MPH and the engine cuts out or stalls a bit.

Hello,
Sounds like the fuel pump is getting too hot and then it's causing vapour lock, therefor starving the engine. After the bike shuts off the fuel pump cools down it's allowing the fuel to flow once again. On my 2000 V11 Sport I solved this by shielding the fuel pump with an insulated foil wrap from a car parts store. Now the fuel pump stays cooler and I never had vapour lock again. Of course if your fuel pump is located in the gas tank then my suggestion will not help. Hope this helps.
