How can i stop the pinging

Pinging sounds are related to pending failures. Be certain to BACKUP your valuable data on a separate drive for storage. Pinging can be a notification that a hard drive is about to go, or an attached device is having a connection problem. If its a Power Back Up (UPS) it means a potential problem with a power cell, like not charging fully or a warming sign. Unplug a UPS and see if that stops the PING. If so, you know where the problem is.

It sounds like your timing is out. Too far BTDC. If you do not know the timing - advance it slightly and try it until it stops pinging. If there is a hill in your area - drive up it with the throttle well opened to se if it pings. Try this before adjusting timing to get a base line to see if it improves with timing adjustments.

mostr likely the parking brake cable is seized up. you can try holding the release and pulling up on the pedal.

pinging noise low octane. mix gasoline half and half.half 87 and half 89.run it severals days if it still ping have it scan to check detonation sensor.a bad detonation sensor will also make car ping alot.

need higher octane gasoline. these love high octane. you can dump an octane booster in the gas to help that.

If you just unplug it will it stop pinging?

I have heard the same thing in my '07 Altima 2.5 S. I asked a mechanic @ the local dealer, and he said he doesn't know what it is and couldn't get the car to make the noise when he drove it.
