"I have a Pioneer VSX-1022 receiver. I was setting a FireTV to control it. FireTV turned it off but couldn't turn it back on. I held down the Adv Surround button and the Standby button and it came back on. Seemed to be working fine. Turned it off. Came back later to watch some TV and t wouldn't turn on. "

Maybe setting problem. Download VSX1022 service manual to read advance setting if this manual has. If problem cannot solve, just phone pioneer to call for help or send an email to their service department. They will help you. I recommend phone them. Don't be shame when call for help.

Jerking and cutting out on a suzuki vitara 1.6 1995

G16 misfires there are over 50 causes,
do you have tools? and gauges, and meters?
overheated before, so not now right?
new engine, so compression over 170psi, ? at sealevel?
seems its not in USA< right>? (if not , the many parts are different that is why I ask country)
our 95s are called sidekicks and trackers.
im guessing you are in canada posting to a USA forum?
jerking and cutting out. when?
hot engine cold engine, or both????
idling in park (is it AT? trans?)
idling in drive.? misfires,. at all times.
driving in gear,? only.
cruising, only misfire?
does it misfire, accelerating or wide open throttle. only?
only up hills , only in some gears?, only in turns,
ECU operates in many modes, (as above) and these facts aid diagnosis big time.
or is jerking and cutting out not the engine, but the 4 speed trans doing that. as any AT sure can do. (gear, flare ,gear ,repeats)

27 reason just here.
http://www.fixkick.com/misfiring.html

my guess, is battery is 13.3 to 15vdc running.
that it's bad spark got new cap, rotor wires and spark plugs.?
old 21 year factory HV wires are helpless, get some BOSCH mag wires, on this G16, best there is for this weak spark engine.

did you gap the stock class plugs at .028" or leave them at NGK .045"
which is wrong, dead wrong. are the plugs OEM plugs stated in the NGK catalog, free to read online? or what ever brand you use?
Did you time the cam right.? not using the false markes on cam cog?
did you then after that, time the distributor to 5deg. btdc or as your book states? using the timing freeze jumper and the timing light?
some are 5deg others are 8. degrees. depends on state or country.
if i knew all ways it misfires, id be more savvy but dont.
good luck..
PS:
id pull all 4 sparks out.
1: color, is tan? ok,.
2: coal black.?
3: black oil soaked.?
4: fuel soaked. even dripping , injector stuck open. on 1?
5: green antifreeze soaked.
6: damaged.
1 bad or all 4 or what, this is called READing the spark tips
and is a HUGE CLUE.

Idles roug and bacfires

Sounds like there is still something wrong with the carb. The engine is probably running lean. Try turning the idle mixture screw out some.

Car feels like it is misfiring in 4th gear.

A misfire feels like the engine is studdering, is that what it does? If it is a misfire you will also have a blinking check engine light when it occurs.

I have a kia rio 2001 the car shakes when i drive it. seems that it does not go into gears, it has no power.

AUTO GEAR THE SERVICE MANUAL DOES NOT REQUIRE TO CHANGE GEAR OIL AND FILTER ,BUT TIME AND USAGE OF THE CAR MAKES THE OIL FITLY AND EVAPORATE EVEN IN CLOSE GEARS.SO CHANGING REFRESH THE GEAR SHIFTING USUALLY SOLVES THE PROBLEM IF ITS NO TOO LATE ADV. CHANGE GEAR OIL EVERY OTHER SERVICE SCHEDULE.

Both Catalytic converters glowing red , plz adv how to get them fix????

Hot catalytic converters indicate too much fuel in the exhaust. This can be caused by poor ignition/misfiring, a problem with fuel/air ratio, ignition timing, cam to crank timing(timing belt/chain).
Catalytic converters have the capability to break down excess hydrocarbons by process of chemical reaction. The more fuel, the more heat. The problem is that they will eventually melt and plug up. So I suggest you repair soon.

Codes p0300 and p0720

The P0300 is down to a cylinder misfire, usually it will have a number like 0302 where the 2 would mean the misfire is in number 2 cylinder. When were the plugs and wires last changed? what milage is on the vehicle?
P0720 is the output shaft speed sensor seems to be more of a common problem on the older hyundai's, is the gear change smooth or erratic? has it ever locked itself into gear? if you clear these codes how quickly do they come back?

Transport erratic - machine cuts out on PLAY/REW/REC

A machine reset (unplugging- (x1 wk)) temporarily seemed to fix; some probls returned after 24 hrs.

Technician series text suggest probl may be Tape Load reel (gears, worn belts), tape slack sensor,
mode switch, etc. In other words, machine needs overhaul due to lack of maintenance. [ But where to get necess parts???!! ]

Audio & picture still perform well. Suspect snow dropouts due to tape age (at least late 1980s) & oxides.
