The wheels could have been changed on the car from the standard original factory set and hence the tyre size may not be the standard factory original size.
The size of the tyres on the vehicle now is moulded into the side wall of the tyres and is easy to read.
Check all 4 tyres because larger size tyres may have been fitted as a pair to the rear.

The size might read - for example 245 45 18 or 235 45 17 (there are a huge number of sizes for each model of tyre).

The first 3 numbers are the width of the tyres in mm eg 225 mmm or 235 mm and so on. The second 2 numbers are the tyre profile size or ratio (which can be 70 65 60 55 50 45 40 and so on. The third number is the wheel diameter size. If you have 18 inch wheels on the car the tyres will read 18 or if they are 17 inch wheels the tyres will read 17 and so on.

1998 chevy camaro speedometer is reading about double my actual speed i have a 3.8l v6

This usually only happens when you try running specialty tires on the vehicle which are smaller than the recommended size but can also happen if the speed gear in the transmission is damaged or worn or if the speedometer itself is malfunctioning. If your using the correct size tire on the vehicle the next step would be to check the speed sensor gear on the transmission. If that is good and not worn or damaged then replace the speedometer itself.

Replace belt tensioner on 1998 camaro v6

You'll need a socket and breaker bar to do this job easily. The socket will be of the size 9/16 to 3/4 in that range. Place the socket on the retaing bolt for the tensioner pulley and pull it towards the side that it moves easily, it will only move one way. While holding the tensioner take the serpentine belt off of the uppermost pulley with the other hand. release the tensioner and hang the belt with a piece of coathanger as not to let it slip off the remainig pulleys. Then remover the teensioner pulley retainig bolt and reverse order to replace the pulley and belt.
