Hi Veronika.
The throttle cable will need to be lubed. It is binding up, and should be sorted out quickly. It will break soon and leave you stranded on the side of the road. It could also jam in the open position. This is not good at all. Replacing the cable will be a solution also, or call into a motorcycle shop and get some lubricant spray down the length of it. They will probably sort this out for you then and there, even not charge you if you suggest to them that you will get them to do your next service. If the cable is stuffed, they could even replace it for you at the same time. Takes about 5 mins to do. Hope this helps you to solve your problem. Happy to answer any questions you may have. Good luck
regards robotek

Hi I'm just wondering can anybody help I have a pure electric E scooter 500-watt I changed the front brake lever and now the back wheel has locked up any ideas

It sounds like there may be an issue with the brake system of your electric scooter. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:
  1. Check the brake cable and make sure it is properly connected and adjusted.
  2. Check the brake pads for any damage or wear, and replace if necessary.
  3. Locate the brake mechanism and see if there is any visible damage or obstruction that may be causing the wheel to lock up.
  4. Try loosening the brake cable and then tightening it again to see if it resolves the issue.
  5. If the issue persists, consider taking the scooter to a professional repair shop for further assistance. It's important to make sure the brakes are working properly for your safety while riding the electric scooter.

I have a Sterling Micro 3 wheeled scooter. When I turn the throttle off the scooter carries on rolling and does not stop like it used to. Anybody know whats gone on my scooter?

Hi, Okay first of all the throttle pot may not be returning to the central position any-more normally this causes a error condition, a bleeping sound, the other thing is the brake is not working correctly , it be worn or not releasing , Do you hear a click when going forward or backwards ?, Some Sterling's work with the brake disconnected so check the wiring.. remember 24v is applied to the electromagnic brake to release the plates allowing you to move, keep me posted please. Hi my scooter will drive in reverse on its own at all kinds of speeds if u leave the key on and is slow in forward only it will only stop in reverse if you turn of key or disconnect the forward or reverse...

Hi tandseaster,
I have owned my own business for 3 years and have been working on scooters and powerchairs for 15 years. I know exactly what the problem is. I can almost tell you what kind of scooter you have. In the future give as much info about the scooter as possible.
Your problem is the throttle pot or somtime called the engager.
You can do one of two things. 1. Open the faceplate to your tiller. look for a lock nut on the throttle pot. loosen it, on the bottom of the pot is a slot for a flat tip screwdriver. Take the key out before you start this procedure. You can turn the screw slot on the pot a little at a time, one way then the other. Turn the key back on, turn the speed pot to lowest speed so the scooter won't take off on you. Once you align the throttle pot to neutral tighten the lock nut. The easiest way to fix your problem is:
2. Replace the throttle pot.
Your problem will be fixed.

Good Luck

Hi my days strider midi4 keeps going in reverse for about 4 seconds after you take the throttle off

spares sounds like the throttle pot is not being centered upon release making the scooter move in reverse or forward depending on which way it is off center. try pushing on the thottle lever slowly forward when you stop to see if that stops the creeping. Then you can try to adjust the pot by loosening the lever and retightening it in the forward direction that stops the creeping. You might have to order a new throttle pot assembly to get this working right. Hope this helps

Moter engaging wheels not turning

Hi Jimmy. Does your machine display and flashing lights, if it does, count the flashes between the pauses. This is a fault code. If you let us know how many flashes, we can help you.
It might be a stuck motor brush. Undo the caps and see if either brush is stuck. A light file with a fine file might help. Careful tightening the brush caps as they can crack if done up to tight.
Good luck. Neil.
