SOURCE: 1982 Honda 650 nighthawk; jumps and stalls when put into gear.

this may help,it doesnt sound like the clutch is out of adjustment,it sounds like the clutch plates have become stuck together,(this happens quite a bit if the bike has been parked for a while..ie over winter)..to fix it get the bike moving, down a drive way or something..then just bang it into gear, then shift into the highest gear you can by shifting without the clutch, once you have a bit of pace on simply hold the clutch lever in and work the throttle on and off all the while holding the clutch lever in,the clutch should free itself fairly quickly and should be back to normall,a lot of older bikes are good at doing this..hope this helps

Sounds like the starter solenoid went bad. Turn the key on, Make sure it in N. Take a screwdriver and jump the terminals on the solenoid and see if it turns the starter over and starts the bike. If it does then the solenoid needs replaced.

SOURCE: I just purchased a 1982 Honda Nighthawk 750 and

The battery is accessed by removing the right side cover. Just tug gently on each corner and it should pop off. To remove the seat, locate the two bolts, one on each side near the rear of the seat. With the two bolts removed, lift the seat up and back to remove it.

SOURCE: 1991 CB 250 Nighthawk: whats the top speed for a 1991 honda nighthawk 250...

I have had my 2008 Nighthawk 250 up to 70mph with some left over. I just got it so I haven't really run it full throttle yet ( 75 miles on the OD ) I weight 300 lbs. I would guess 80 on a flat road. I felt comfy at 70 but this is my 5th bike. I bought this one for the gas mileage and 1 yr. warranty. I will try actual top speed on the Interstate in about 1000 miles. Hope this helps. I like the bike. Chris

Hello! I recently bought a 1982 650 honda nighthawk. It has like rattle sounds in the engine. What is this,or what can it be? Please tell me there is a fix!! Thank You Kindly Dave

hard to tell with out hearing it. but if it sounds deep inside possible, rod bearings or crank bearings. if it sounds to be coming from the top of head it may need valve adjustments. if u put it under a load ,and it gets loader, bearing should be looked ,at if it stays the same ,look at the valve adjustments.
