If the lock is surely open then you could use a strong flashlight and lift the seat a little with a big screwdriver (or crowbar) in the small gap between fuel tank and seat.
- then you can see the lock and try to move/turn it somehow until it pops open.

Left rear seat back won't release.

Sometimes if they've been dropped back into place quite roughly the lock claw can jam or the seat belt has caught in mechanism.
You would need to try and get a look at the lock part which isn't easy I know. I bought an Endoscope for my smart phone for very little money and that can get right in there.
If any part of the mechanism is broken, the only way is to try to release it with long thin screwdriver as I had to once.

That is actually a bit tricky issue. You don't want to damage fairing or tail, and there are no easy access to the release mechanism, if the key feature & wire action doesn't work. I ended up forcing the seat off the front tab. It's plastic and can take some brutality, without breaking. Still the latch/lock mechanism were engaged, but I was able to force the seat up some, and with a flashlight, could have sort of a view to the lock. A long thin rod inserted from right side and backwards against the release, and a tap on the rod w/ a plastic hammer worked.
However.... Aftermath: the easiest way will be to drill a hole from underneath, in the back of the plastic tray behind the battery. Drill half an inch off center to the left. There from beeing able to access release mechanism with a small screwdriver or similar. Release direction is left (ie wire pull w/ key).
Hope this helped.

How to fix a 2001 vectra seat release

You can try to pull on the belt with the plastic trim piece removed the take a flat tipped screwdriver the release the arm or bar holding the belt in the lock position. Most of these have a spring on them. That spring can fall out. Or sometimes the bar or lock arm may be jammed and needs to be pried loose then lubricated to prevent this from repeating in the future.

The boot on my T reg ford focus will not open. The lock appears to have jammed. The lock makes the usual noises when the remote or interior button is pressed but does not release. I can't manually...

autobody shops have clever ways to overcome this problem as they see it so often as an upshot of wrecks. so i suggest you drop by one and slip them a 10 dollar tip to do it for you. put the seats down so you can get in and replace the lock mechanism when you get a new one.

Rear seatbelts jammed down backseats

hello tracieandmia, I am assuming that the seatbelt buckles are just underneath the seat. The rear seat bottem can be removed for access. If you reach under the front part of the seat bottem near each corner and lift up, the seat will release. You will need to give it a little yank and use a little force for it to release. Once each corner is released you can remove the seat bottem. To install the seat, slide it back under the seat back and push hard down on each front corner that you had previuosly pulled up at. You should hear a definite click/lock sound when the catches are locked.
