One headlight stays on after turning car off.

with engine on, check lights, main beam and dip and side lights. Check tail lights work too.
With lights on, turn the indicator switch left for a few seconds then right. You are looking for odd behavior with lights.
It's a good indication of an earthing fault (grounding).
Turn engine off and see if lights-on warning alarm sounds.
Corrosion around connectors often causes light faults, check them all, if they seem sound then check the relays.
Another possibility is the switch itself. Wiggle it around very gently feeling for loose movement or flickering lights. The whole switch may need replacing. It's a start......after that then you need to check wiring loom. (very rarely the bulb is the fault so test them with a circuit tester)

Harley Davinson 1986 break light wont turn off

One of the switches, on the handle bar, or foot pedal is closed all the time. Disconnect one at a time and determine which one it is. It may just need an adjustment to keep it from completing the circuit. If not, replace the switch. Sometimes the brake filiment (inside the bulb) will break and fall over onto the tail-light filiment. This will cause the tail-light to light brightly, as if the brake switch is closed in. Try a bulb first.

Tail light not coming on put a stock one in

Mine acted up this year also. I sprayed WD-40 in my ignition switch slot and the lights started working. Then later my left front running light would not stay on. I had to constantly adjust the turn switch while riding to get it to stay on. I got home sprayed WD-40 into the switch lever on the handle bar. Swapped back and forth from left to right with the turn signals. Worked from then on. Go WD-40!! Cheap and worth a shot.

You turn the handle bars to the left the head lights turn off

Sounds like you have a short. The headlight and the tail light are on the same fuse as well as a few other lights. I'd look closely right where the main harness goes from the frame to the front end. There is a lot of flexing and movement in the wiring harness in that area. Look for wires that could have been rubbed by the fairing.

Good Luck

Yamaha r6 braking lights

Start with a new brake\tail bulb, then try unplugging the front brake switch on the handle bars , then try unplugging the rear brake switch. one of these options should locate a problem

You might try to check the horn first by shortcircuiting it ( two leads from the battery.) If the horn itself works , find your way up: check with your contact switched on, the wires that lead to the horn by using a small light bulb or an Voltmeter: if you push the horn button, the licht should go on or the voltmeter should read 12 v.. If not , check the horn switch itself, there could be some corrosion. Good luck , allways a puzzle , the electricity..

Brake lighht does not work from front or rear lever, bulbs are fine.

Please check both switches - one on the handle bar and the other on the foot petal.

To prove or disprove, unplug then and short them out. If you short the harness out and the light llights, replace the switch.

You can also check the fuse in the fuse box ...
