Pull the slide out of the carb then move the clip on the jet needle down one or two notches. This will richen the low range fuel mix. You can also get a rear sprocket with about 4 more teeth. This will get you off the line and out of the corners faster BUT it will also lower your top speed.

Please rate this solution. Thanks supergunner!

SOURCE: 2005 450r dies at full throttle

Sounds like dirt in the main jet of the carb. Take the slide out and clean the needle. The pull the float bowl and blow air or carb cleaner through the brass jet in the middle of the barb, where the needle seats.

SOURCE: engine starts and idles perfectly, but as soon as

Howdy: Could be the floats. Idle good but rev it up and the gas goes lean. Use quick start sprayed in the air cleaner area and see if the bike will rev. If so check out the float adjustment. Could be a stuck needle to the floats shut off. Good luck - Doug

SOURCE: wont start by kick start but will by pull start

it could be the gaskets around your carb are bad and leaking air if so its thinning your gas fumes with more air then what is needed inside your combustion chamber witch is causing your engine to stop running like that. best of luck

Hi i have a keeway hurricane50. it lacks power

Remove the exhaust and see if the power is back. If so, the new exhaust has an internal collapse (obstruction) and needs to be returned to the dealer for a replacement.

My 2003 yz250 runs full throttle as soon as it is started. Checked the obvious stuff - carb throttle....it started revving out of control intermitantly now its full time. Any ideas?

3 things... First twist the throttle rapidly and listen for the carb slide to move up and down,, ya should hear a clicking in the carb... if so slide ok.. Sure bout the throttle cable ? At grip ? When starting the bike takes alot of kicks to get started ? As if were flooded ?

Electrical problem

Clean the carbs. Then move the jet needle clips down one notch. This should solve the dieing problem. Chances are the engine is flooding due to twisting the throttle too much. Try it with only one twist then no additional throttle. Install a fresh set of spark plugs.
