2008 honda cbr 600rr won't start a clicking sound from the starter solenoid relay

Motorbike does not start, a click sound comes from the starter. Solenoid relay with a very dim headlight and fading dushboard indicators

Sounds like a bad solenoid...BUT - Make SURE the battery is fully charged!! - using a short screwdriver CAREFULLY jump the two big main threaded studs on the solenoid ..(wire from battery stud and the stud with wire going to the starter)(sparks WILL FLY so don't do this near open gas containers or fumes!!) .. when you jump the solenoid - if it tries to start, its the solenoid... IF not.. you need to check all the connections, have the battery checked by a battery shop to see if the amperage is up to snuff..(you can have 12+ volts but no amperage to push the voltage).. this would indicate a bad battery.
Do this, repost the results.

Check the connections on the starter solenoid and on the starter. Then I would check the starter button.

Just uncap the wire going to the plugs. Kick the starter and hold the naked end of the wire close to the body. If you don't get a sharp sparking from the ends of the wire to the body then you'll know there is insufficient current being supplied to it by start solenoid...............sodeep

its best to change the engine oil after the first 500 miles then again at 1000, by then it wont realy matter to much so long as its done twice yearly as they have very soft cam shafts

Andrew's advice is correct. // If your lights do _not_ dim, and you are definitely hearing a ''click'', then it is likely a bad starter solenoid. Nowadays most mechanics will replace the entire starter _if_ the solenoid is attached to the starter; (they usually are). However, if you are DIY type, you can save lots $$$ by only replacing the solenoid itself.

Car will not start. Dash lights come up when key is turned, but are dim. When turning the key, there is no sound or click. Battery was tested at and confirmed to be fully charged. What is wrong?
Check the battery like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.
If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
Check that the battery cable plus post, goes to the starter, Minus post to a good ground, like the engine.
If wiring is ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection.
Problem is most likely the Solenoid or starting relay, whichever the car uses.

'03 Navigator will not start.
Sound Like Transmission Position Sensor ... a sensor determines when you are in Park when stopped...if not, wont start...

Other solution could be Fuse Relay...do you hear buzzing sound coming from fuse box. If so, feel which one is failing and replace. $6 at Autozone....

everything electrical work except the starting circuit?

Turn key & have power to starter solenoid ?
Neutral Switch !
Ignition Switch !

Tough to guess without wiring diagrams,
to see where to start testing

the clicking that you hear is coming from the starter relay. sounds like your ignition starter switch or ignition lock cylinder is bad.

Sounds like your starter motor has gone out, the clicking is the starter solenoid, just the starter motor not working. To make sure turn your headlight's on, try to start it, if lights go some what dim to almost off, then have your battery check out first, if light don't dim at all, bad starter. replace starter assembly, starter will also come with new solenoid.

I have a 1998 4 X Tahoe. When I turn the switch on, clicking sounds under dash and then nothing. Battery seems strong, checked connections, all good. Could it be a starter relay? Thanks so much!!! Ed
an easy way too see if its the battery is to turn the headlights on, and try to start it, if the lights dim the battery is to low, if the battery checks ok, then it sounds like the starter solenoid located on the starter it self, a new starter and solenoid should be around $100 and take about 30 min. to install

WONT START JUST CLICKS, RADIO,WINDOWS,LIGHTS WORK
The clicking sound is usually associated with a dead or low battery where there isn't enough power for the starter to crank so it clicks. Test the battery as it should read 12V plus/minus .2V
If the battery is good, then the starter solenoid, starter cables or the starter motor itself could be a problem.

chec fuses-bad ones can appear normal-inspec if connecs r tite at starter n solenoid area-n also relays--starter may be bad ur bike is 10yrs-test it--that electric clutch may be malfunctionin too

Does anybody know how to remove an ignition off a 2008 CBR600RR? I broke my key and the locksmith made a new one which works for everything except it doesn't lock the steering wheel. I called Honda and they can't provide me a code because they said they did not hold on to them after this many years and since I bought it used and not from them they wouldn't have it anyways. So I asked what I should do and Honda in the locksmith both said to take the ignition off and take it to the locksmith and he will perfect the key. So does anybody know how to take it off?
