SOURCE: bike bogs for second then revs when throttling

Pull the slide out of the carb then remove the jet needle and move the clip one notch lower on the needle.

SOURCE: bike bogs when throttling

Quitting is a no-no. Move the needle clip down one notch and also remove and clean the carb if it has been dieing..

SOURCE: CBF1000 - power flat spots in the first 1-2 miles,

Hi, this is a common problem with this bike. After some research I found that it is caused by a valve system to do with the emmissions reduction system on the bike. It does something along the line of pipe exhaust back into the engine or something similar while the bike warms up to reduce emissions, I have read about guys blocking off this hose and apparently this solves the problem. I personally just ride to it, after having the bike for 2 months have learnt this quirk and adjust my riding style to match. If you are still unsure, come to the honda cbf1000 forum. I know I have seen this topic there before with explanations.

SOURCE: the bike idles and runs great at idle but if I rev

the rattle may just be vibration or a failin bearing-old bike--carb shud be takin apart-cleaned-and ajusted if problems get worse--buy a repair manual thats what the pros use

2001 buick century if throttled up at the engine runs great but if throttled up by the throttle pedel it begins to surge

This car should have a throttle positioning sensor. Have you had the codes run on your vehicle. Free at most local auto parts centers

How do you check the oil level on a 1986 honda V65 Magna 1100? (I have no dip stick on the oil cap). What is the oil capacity?

The dip stick is on the same side as the fill cap but toward the rear just behind the round part of the clutch cover, and screwed in at a downward angle. If I remember it takes about 4 quarts to do an oil and filter change on it.

The information given so far is good but I need to expand on the issue a bit more for new further clarification. The motorcycle seems to cyle power in and out every 3 seconds and fades at about 6500 rpm....

Thanks for the added clarification on the problem you are having. Based on that new information, here's a more detailed suggestion: Your bike's carburetion uses vacuum operated throttle slides. These slides each have a rubber diaphram at the top which causes the slide raise and lower when the throttle is open or closed. Remove the round chrome cover atop each carburetor (four screws, each) and inspect the rubber diaphrams for any signs of detioration. It sounds like at least one of them has a hole or crack that is causing the throttle slide in that carburetor to not move properly. Also make sure the slide moves freely within the carb body and is not hung up by fuel varnish or other foreign debris.
Please advise as to the results.

My honda vf 1100 honda wont start after riding,is there a charging problem ? Thanks

Chances are, YES.

Simple chraging system test:
Start motorcycle
Turn HIGH BEAM light ON
Run 10 minutes or until warmed up good
Rev the RPMs to at least 3,000
Remove the positive battery cable

If the motorcycle dies, then there IS a charging sytem failure.
If the motorcycle continues to run, have the battery checked at a local parts store. If they do not know the Cold Cranking amps tell them 235.

If it is a charging system failure, send another question and I can walk you through diagnoses and repair.
