SOURCE: not getting spark all the time

I think the only problem you have is a loose or corroded connection somewhere. Check your module plug connectors for corrosion (green junk). Check wires to coil, kill switch and other connections for loose or frayed wires or connectors.I doubt that you have a bad electrical component since it starts sometimes but it is possible. Let us know what you find.

2003 harley davidson full dresser back fires or pops sound on the left side pipe when i let go the the gas handle at around 2000rpms it all started when i had new cams put in

Popping sound at the exhaust is usually due to a very lean setting which causes unburnt fuel to burn late in the exhaust pipe and happens when you are going at a high rpm with a closed throttle making it even leaner. My bike had the same problem and most Harleys are factory tuned lean which is very bad as the engine runs hot. After putting free flow Rhinehart pipes like i did, it became worst so i installed the Vance & Hines fuelpak and now my bike runs so silent and cooler. A great difference from before.

2003 harley 1200 custom sportster with 50 miles strats up fine with choke pulled out. once engine is warm and choke is pushed in 50% bike stalls out. have repalaced gas, spark plugs and just took apart...

A 2003 model with only 50 miles?? Wow....well,since youve already taken the carb apart and cleaned it,did you hook up the vaccum line for the VOES switch on the intake manifold? If so,..when you get the bike running,..spray some brake clean around the intake where it bolts to the heads. If the idle picks up,or starts to sputter,..youve got leaking intake gaskets. Which is a good possibility on a bike that old with that few miles on it.The choke essentailly adds more fuel to the motor, and by what your saying, the bike is obviously running lean. Also,...im ASSUMING that you have fresh gas in it,and the petcock is turned on.

My ironhead sportster's tail pipes are heating up so much that they started to glow after only about 2 minutes of the bike running.so i hurried and shut it down right away but don't know where to...

Hey beast, what part of the pipe is glowing? You running straight pipes, if so how long are they? A rich fuel mixture wil cause the pipe on the rear cylinder to get hot like that, most often on hard acceleration, or high speed riding....Also carbon build-up on the inside of the pipes and creates an inferno.

This 2003 harley sportster has a tilt sensor where is it on the bike and can i disable it?

They used to put those things on the backside of the oil tank and if it's a "normally closed" switch, you should be able to jumper it out. But, I have never disabled one of the switches. I've never had anyone that had a problem with one. As far as I know, it's a safety switch so that the engine does not "run away" if the bike is dropped. I've seen plenty of Sportsters do this back in the days when we rode them in the woods. Drop the bike and the engine would scream wide open for a short period of time before it quit. The old Sportsters (69-70) with the Tillotson carb was the worst about it. That carb had no float bowl and would run in any position. They use the same design on chainsaws.

2003 sportster wont start after it gets hot..fine if it sits for about an hour, has plenty of spark when it has a no start and smells of fuel

Sounds like the fuel in the float bowl is percolating. This means the fuel in the float bowl heats up and boils when you shut the engine down. Don't worry, it won't explode or anything. I've seen this quite often even on carburetor equipped automobiles. In a car, it's called a "vapor lock". The trick is to get the engine to run cooler. You engine is jetted very lean so that it meets EPA emission standards. Because it's fuel air mixture is so lean, it's running hot. Take the bike to a performance oriented shop and have them richen the carb up to the next richer slow speed jet and readjust the idle mixture screw. They may want to put a 0.020: shim under the needle to richen up the mid-range mixture a bit as well.

Good Luck

Harley spits and sputters.

Unless an aftermarket device has been installed on your bike, you must take it to a dealer to get the fuel map reworked.
