The most likely cause is the clutch plates have worn out. You have to consider that these 125s are usually ridden by beginners, this means that they will be revved out in ,at least, the first 3 gears.

Thank you so very much Michael. Are these plates expensive to have replaced

  • Michael Green Jul 22, 2012

No, you could do it yourself, if you have a good manual and some basic tools. A shop would only take about an hour.

Again thank you very much for your reply. Do you think it would be safe to drive it for a few days until I can get it repaired??

  • Michael Green Jul 23, 2012

No problem, just don't rev to the redline you will only cause more problems if you do.

SOURCE: Tyre Pressure

As always, correct pressure depends on the tyre fitted but if it is running with the standard tyres that it had fitted from new then:
Single rider: Front is 1.75 bar (25 PSI) Rear 2.0 (29 PSI)
Fully loaded (Panniers and or pillion passenger) Front 2.0 bar (29 PSI) Rear 2.25 bar (32 PSI)

These settings from the book for a 2006 model, though I imagine that they apply to all with very little if any variation

SOURCE: Carb Problem GZ 125cc

A plugged up main jet in the carb could be the problem. Remove the float bowl and clean the carb. I prefer removing the entire carb from the bike then doing the cleaning. Carb cleaner can mess up the paint job.
Clean or replace the air filter. Another possibility is the muffler could be partially plugged up due to mud or a collapse of the pipe inside the muffler. Disconnect the exhaust then see if the problem is gone. Also, be sure you have clean oil in the gearbox, a well oiled chain, good gas, and a new spark plug.

I want to clean the baffles on the exhaust of my 2002 suzuki

hi your exhaust is a sealed item, also your bike is a 4 stroke, why would you need to clean the baffles?only reason these would block up is if you are burning oil,if you are then i would think about a top end overhaul
