SOURCE: will only run with full choke and absolutely no throttle.

Carbs gummed up. Need a serious cleaning or a full ruubers replacement/rebuild kit. Gas turns to gummy when left stting in the fuel bowls.

Use a couple of cans of Sea Foam.. best stuff in the world.

Sounds like a loose piece of crud in the main jet. Have you had the jet and tube above it out? It could also be a spark problem. See if you have spark when it tries to die ( put a nail in the plug boot and get it sparking 1/4" or so to the plug at idle then rev it up, it should continue jumping. I think that bike will also have mechanical spark advance on the rotor on the end of the cam. If the springs are loose on that the spark timing will be all over the map and can make it run intermittantly.

SOURCE: Honda shadow ACE 750 dies on idle after warmed up

I guess you will have to reset the air-mixture screws of the carburator/s.
Not bad if you check the condition of the spark plugs...if its ..'Whitish' means lean i.e. less gas in, Brownish...means ok, 'Blackish'...means too much gas in .....'rich'
In your bike's case you may find it 'whitish'.
Hope this helps !

Do I have a bad fuel pump

Not symptoms of a pump. Sounds more like a bad idle air control valve. run some fuel system cleaned in it and run a full tank of gas to see if it changes.

Sounds as if you have all the variables to make it go but, I'd suspect that either the tank filter is plugged or there is an inline gas filter that is plugged to a point it's only allowing a small amount of fuel (gas) to enter the carb. It's not uncommon after running and engine bone dry to pick up a bunch af rusty sediment in the bottom of the tank. the filters do their job but end up starving the engine of gas. There is a bit that's running through and after sitting for a few minutes the carb floats fill up and the motorcycle operated normally till the gas in the float bowls runs out and the engine dies.

Drain the carburetor float bowl. It is probably partly filled with water from condensation inside the gas tank. The carb and float bowl will look something like the image below. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

My 94 Mercury Sable slows down and dies when less than half tank

Check for vent to gas tank, and the fuel pressure regulater to make sure the gas that isn`t being used is routed back to tank easy. The return line going back to tank needs to be cleared by removing gas cap,and blowing air pressure back into tank,If this don`t help, replace the fuel pump, for it is weak.

Next time it happens, pop the gas cap and see if the problem stops. Can you hear/feel air rushing in when you open the cap? If you can, you have a clogged gascap vent. You can try to take it apart and and clean/fix the one you got, or just buy a new cap.
