The bulbs are dual elements and maybe one is shot but you can't see that it is and I figure you know what your doing so excuse me if I say something that you already know because I'm not there at the vehicle ok since the brake and turn signal both work there on the same element anyway so I would try changing the bulb if still no parking tail light now start searching all the lights for wire continuity and also the fuses are any bulbs blown or burnt ? If nothing comes up the headlight switch should be checked but I feel that a bulb or wire is to blame

I would check your Auxiliary relay box. Check the R03 relay you might need to replace it. The Auxiliary relay box is located in the engine compartment (driver side)

SOURCE: Brake light, reverse light and turn signal issues

Hello. The symptoms you are describing are likely due to a poor ground. Temporarily install a new ground wire by securing a piece of copper wire to the frame with a self tapping screw. Use this ground wire along with the hot wire to see if each of these lights works. If it does, trace the ground wire back to the frame, unscrew it and clean up the metal with emery cloth so you reestablish a good ground.

Why would my 2002 Dodge Durango passenger side tail lights work but the brake and blinker do not? Bulbs are the same and it has a single fuse. All are good. What would keep the blinker or brake light...

I had a similar problem, you might want to try changing out the BWD - Relay - Multi-Use Part #R4823. It is located under the Dash, beside the Steering Column. I purchased one from Canadian Tire for $25.00 b71e50cc-8a90-4fe6-8fc0-e129852746b5.jpg

2006 Jeep Commander Tail light

The tail light circuit is separate from the brake and turn signal circuit. Either the bulb socket has gone bad or a wire has flaked out. Check for voltage at the socket on either pin base when you have your parking lights on. If voltage is present, it is either a worn socket failing to hold the bulb properly, or another bad bulb. If no voltage, determine which wire on the other side is tail light power, and run a new wire across to the side that isn't working and connect it to provide power.

Brake lights go on but when headlights are on and i press the brake they go off the brake lights go offf

Brad V's "bad ground" is most likely cause. I'd start investigating with the tail lights. (Not the headlights, but they may also be an issue.) Confirm all bulbs on both sides are good. That includes running lights, brake lights, turn signals and reverse. Some bulbs may have dual-function, the 3157 bulb in the J2K is one that serves stop-light (brake) and tail/running lights. Replace if suspect. Make sure the bulbs are mounted correctly. Rust can cause a poor ground so you might have to replace the socket or fixture if it is grounded to the fixture. By any chance do the turn signals also have issues? Or the emergency flash switch bulbs?

Left brake light wont work on a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan

First, check for good ground on the black wire. If that's good, then you've got a power problem. Power to the left brake light comes from splice BS02. Check the white/tan wire for power from the bulb socket back to that splice. Sounds like there's an open in the wire.

Brake lights don't work but third brake light does

I believe the flashers are on a different circute. It sounds like a bad ground.....or one of your taillight sockets is bad. I have a cavilier that had the same problem. I went to a junk yard and found some light socket s and swopped them. So far it has been working. The third light has its own ground. tail light sockets need to have a good ground, some times the ground from batt. to block, ground frome block to frame can be bad.
Think "ground"
Don't try and buy new sockets , unless they are just like the fasctory sockets. getting the entire tail light works good. Find the main tail light, the juce comes to it first, then passes to other side. Check that dide frst. work your wat over to other side, if u cant find a problem, work your way to the front and find out where the lights are grounded.
good luck

Im looking for the fuse for the right tail light

You do not have a separate fuse for each side, if the left side works, replace the bulb in the right side that isn't working.

Tail lights and dash lights come on when you push the brake

You could have one of two problems here. Firstly if you are getting a christmas tree effect on rear lamp assy ie dull glow from all the lights ,, It's most likely a bad earth/ground connection to lamp,,Secondly if anybody has changed rear bulbs or attempted to fix the problem may have inserted a single contact (21W) indicator/turn signal bulb into the Twin contact brake/tail light socket in error . one bulb (21W) has oposite located pin lugs on side of bulb the double contact brake tail bulb (21/5W) has offset pins. Good luck
